Remarks

The college was under construction during our college days so never got the best infrastructure to study in. But the infrastructure is good enough now to have a good standard.

Entrance Preview

Took admission in 3rd year degree college, so no entrance exam was required. Though the admission process was easy and it was purely on merits and cut offs the college declared. The process was manual but it was organised and the process was smooth for students and new entrants. The college is well known for its commerce education so that attracted me towards the course and college. Also the college is more than 50 years old, so it had good teaching staff for commerce.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The Curriculum was good enough to make a student understand the actual meaning of commerce and got updated time to time as per the progress in the economy. Some part of the syllabus used to be unwanted but hopefully it would be modified and update with the changing market trends and also many new courses were introduced in college for having fine knowledge in that particular feild.

Internships Opportunities

Been a commerce graduate student we never had internships. But definitely for courses which require internship the college would be helping the students to find the same or may be having tie ups with organization's for the same which would help students to enrich their careers.

Placement Experience

4

The college helds placement programs, in which lot many indian as well MNC companies participate and college gives lot of support for campus placement also. Top rated company such as Tata, Reliance, WNS, HDFC, ICICI, any many more companies give ample to job opportunities in various fields. Also the provide with a good Salary ranging 15-20k per month for freshers depending on merits and qualifications.

College Events

5

There were annual events in college and students participated with great enthusiasm. The events included inter college competition, debate, elocution, sports, annual day, educational trips, Industrial visits, etc. The participation was good enough and all students enthusiastically participated and the college also encouraged lot of cultural activities and encouraged students to participate more and more in the field of their interest.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure was feasible. They also provided multiple scholarships and discount facilities for travelling. The fees varied for different categories of students and was quite reasonable so that no one is deprived of admission in college for monetary crunch. The college is a government college so it has many subsidies available.

Fees and Financial Aid

I have no exact idea about the same but there may be some arrangements made by the college authorities for the same.

Campus Life

3.5

The overall campus life was good. There was an equal gender ratio and everyone actively participated in all student parties, workshopsz cultural programmes, sports, campaigning, economic status etc. The overall approach of college is to provide a good personality development to student in terms of education, career, social, public relations etc. It is good place to seek for overall growth in a student.

Hostel Facilities

3

There is no hostel facility available from college. The food available in canteen was also limited during our days since the college was under construction. The best part was it had an open canteen where students could chill out with cutting chai and make great memories.

Alumni/Alumna

Post graduation there is no communication with college alumini or senior students. Everyone had their own group of friends which they maintained after college.

Exam Structure

Exams used to be held 4 times in a year, 2 unit test and 2 semesters. Also there were vivas and project reports to be submitted as per university norms. The exams used to be competitive enough to prepare the student to face real life challenges. Exam days used to be hectic as the college maintained the quality of education and learning and constantly tried in boosting up the level of education provided by them.

Admission

Got admission based on merits. The admission process manual at that time, though the administrative staff was cooperative and helped in smooth admission process. The merit lists were declared on time and gave sufficient time to complete the admission process.

Faculty

4

Faculty was highly experienced with deep knowledge about the subject as well as real life examples. They helped in every aspect to understand and helped learn the real aspects of life. They also held career orientation programmes to guide students which path to choose post graduation which is very helpful.

Placement Experience:

At TCSC placements are quite good as anyone. Even the SOBO colleges and Mithibai don't have placements as good as us. So this is why I always dreamt of studying here because since last 6-7 years, Thakur College placements have gone better and higher.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The B.com is not a very comprehensive and complex degree to complete for someone who wants to pursue his/her career in finance. It can be referred as an initial start or push start for one's finance journey over the years. Also the relevance of B.com in real world is gradually decreasing day by day.

The good thing is that the college was not strict and was never forcing us to study rather it was seeing to it that it gave us proper advice and help us reach more towards my career goal. The bad part would be there were may staff which was very dull and was not kind, and no importance was given to correct their behaviour although it was evident by all.
