Eligibility of the course depends on the University, every year it changes but for hons courses, this college eligibility is 60%aggregrate and 60% marks which subject you want to study for Hons. The college application form finds the college website at the admission time

Course Curriculum Overview

Hooghly Women's College faculty is very good, and very responsible. Most Faculty qualification is P.H.D level their teaching methods are very good. Every 6 months after our sem exams term and Burdwan University syllabus very difficult was to pass.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees cost is nothing to high. We got every government scholarship and college scholarships also Financial Assistance is good.Na I can't got job on campus with stipend because this is the general degree college. Their available only BA and B.SC hons and pass

Campus Life

Our college annual fest name is college social. every month they are conducted educational seminars on every department our library is very big and Their are lots of book our classroom s is very big and good...our college organized sports for every year and observed all curricular activities like quiz,drama,dance etc. Yes our college have social group NCC group and also have official website for students.

Placement Experience:

College does provide internship opportunities both through the placement cell as well as department faculty. Semester 5 and Semester 7 students are eligible for placements. Average package is about 5.5 lakh per annum for microbiology course. Although placement percentage is on the lower side majority of students go for higher studies. Many prepare for exams like GATE, IIT JAM, etc.

Placement Experience:

college placements are good in this college with a number of good financial and consultancy firms coming in with new gen companies as well in the service and sales industry. moreoever getting a good placement in a top financial or consultancy placement requires a POR in a good society as a criteria, its not really required but adds to your chances of getting it. moreover you require to participate in a number of case study competitions for the same as well. my plans after graduation is probably working for a year or two after which i plan on doing my MBA. around 50-60% who apply get a placement.

My experience at St. Xavier's

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course theory helps us gain a solid understanding of the subject matter. Film studies and Mass Communication theory classes has laid down the foundation of the subject- from what is a shot and the kinds of shots and angles, to the beginning of radio in India and essays by CS Pierce and John Berger. The course also includes practical classes in the sound labs, editing labs and we will learn to use a camera, as one of the things we will have to do in this course is make films of our own.

We have a placement cell helping students get placed. They keep posting opportunities like internships and fellowships throughout the year to groom students and give them exposure and experience.
