Remarks

College facility is very goood and management is pretty ok and the canteen is very bad. But i would stil recommend my college.

Entrance Preview

I took CAT and scored 7250 rank and got admitted to Oxford college of Engineering 2005 batch.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course Curriculum was as per VTU standards,VTU has 8 semester in which 1-4 semester is same for all the department. We will get to learn on microprocessor,Logical Design, Maths, Data Structure, Unix in depth 3. from 5th semester we will learn "Unix Programming" "Java" "Shell script" "testing".

Internships Opportunities

We had no companies for internship,we had only placement and many off campus interviews. But latest i heard from my juniors that the placement is very bad at present.

Placement Experience

We had multiple companies Infosys Pool Campus in our collegeb Salary : 3.2Lc. Selected 70 people.

College Events

We have very less cultural events celebrated, management does not spend money on celebrations. We had lot of difficulties to connivence management for a Inter-college fest. But we got permission for only Inter-department fest by name "Jalsa".

Fee Structure And Facilities

Our college comes under Telugu minority,so the college feees is very less its 500 rs per year govt fees of 19k for Merit seat or 50k for payment seat. For management seat the fee is around 1.5L per annum.

Fees and Financial Aid

Oxford college does not have tie up with any other for scholarship and loan. Its same for all since its VTU college.

Campus Life

There are no activities its like only studies there is no competitions also. When we request management for funds to participate in inter college fest the management was very stringent to release funds.

Hostel Facilities

I was not staying at hostel but my close friends used to stay in hostel. The food in hostel is patetic and the faciltiies are very bad. Please used to skip breakfast or drink milk since breakfast was very bad.

External Expense: Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is not existing. They collect 500 rs as alumni fee and invite only for 1st and 2nd year and latter they dont invite. But we get to know from juniors and attend.

Exam Structure

Exams are as per VTU and every semester will have 3 internals. Best of 2 of internals are considered for externals. Labs are very well equipped with computers and mechanical lab is also very good.

Life at IIT Dharwad - What to expect

Placement Experience:

At IIT Dharwad, students become eligible for campus placements right after their 7th semester(i.e. after the start of 4th year) and during their 3rd year, students also have opportunities to sit for internships which can later convert to PPOs. The companies that have visited our campus are Adobe, Amazon, Texas, TCS, wipro etc. The highest CTC offered was 55LPA and average package for CSE is 18-20LPA, and for the core branches is around 10-15LPA. In CSE more than 93% of the students got placed and many of other students opted for higher studies . In the core branches the placement percentage was around 85-88%. After My degree, I plan to go for a Software Engineer role.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well my subjects are right now, physics, pop(c), java,IME (introduction to mechanical engineering), mathamatics. Well curriculum is great as we got more programming languages and some of the moderate difficulty i would say. And also better exam conduction .
