Remarks

To get admission in nit Jamshedpur, you must have to give jee mains and should get a good rank in jee mains. General and EWS students must get at least 50000 ranks in jee main to get a non-core branch i.e. production and industrial design. For computer science, you should get 10000 ranks in jee mains For another category, it varies.

Course Curriculum Overview

I have a keen interest in civil so I opt for civil engineering. Coming to girls boys ratio is 22 girls and 90 boys so the girls are to boys ratio is not good. All the faculties are PhD degree holders and have a good experience in teaching. Nit Jamshedpur conducts timely mid-sem and end sem. It is quite difficult to get an A grade in the subject... As a teacher do not give number while checking the answer sheet.

Placement Experience

We get eligible to sit for placements from the 1st semester of the 4th year. Placement in this college is very good. This is what attracts most students to this college while counselling. The average placement of this college is on par with any of the top engineering colleges in India. It has an average placement of 14lacs

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee is quite higher than other nits. on another hand, the college has also hiked the institute fee by 5000 making it more costly than nits. But if your income is less than 100000 then you will get a 100 fee remission on the institute fee but you have to give hostel and mess fees. But the management of the college is worse. The non-teaching staff who are involved in management are very much rude and do not care about students.

Campus Life

Nit Jamshedpur has a different cultural club, technical club, debating society etc. You will get good exposure to different clubs which will enhance your skill. Civil engineering society is the best club of civil engineering which organize "ashwavedha" a type of cultural fest for a civil engineering students. Urja is our sport fest. Kalash is our cultural fest. Our library has many books and it also contains books for ias irs ,ies preparation.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

I applied for NIT Raipur NIT Durgapur and NIT prayagraj I selected this college NIT Jamshedpur because it has top class placement and the branch I was getting as mechanical engineering which is a decent branch. I got rejected from NIT prayagraj due to little less rank . The admission process of my colleges you have to qualify JEE mains with around 95 percentile to get any branch as a general student then you have to go for Josaa counselling in which you will be a lot at the seat . I did choose this college because it is quite old and reputed, being a govt college it has lesser fees and offered good placements, I got IIIT Lucknow as well, but didn't opt for it as it was quite new and didn't have proper hostel and residence facilities at that moment.
