Remarks

To get admission to VIT you should have completed your senior secondary board(class 12) in PCM with a minimum of 75% aggregate in PCM. To apply for the admission procedure visit the official site of the college and click on the application form link where the last date to apply will also be mentioned so plan your application filling dates accordingly. Application fees would be around INR 1250. No reservation benefits are given during the admission procedure and selection is completely based on your entrance performance. However certain categories are made according to your rank secured in the VITEEE entrance exam and there is a hike in academic fees with each increasing category ranging from 1 to 5. The only improvement in the admission process is that marks secured should be shown so that the rank obtained can be identified.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum in VIT is completely flexible and independent of an individual's personal preference. They call this a Fully Flexible Credit System where you can select your faculty and courses on your own and there is no university foundation on this particular front. Courses are divided into four categories named: Programme Core, Programme Elective, University Elective, and University Core from which you can choose your desired subjects according to your branch requirements. A total of 160 credits should be completed by you in the course of 4 years. On an average 45 to 60 students per class would be there depending upon the type of course. Faculties in VIT are quite good with most of them being Ph.D. holders and research scholars. Their teaching methodology is good and the same as all the other universities around the country. Talking about the examination perspective they are quite hectic when compared to other engineering colleges. There will be 2 continuous assessments quiz digital assignments

Internships Opportunities

2.5

Industrial Internships carry 2 credits in the VIT curriculum which is necessary to do. You have to undergo a minimum of 4 weeks i.e 28 days where you have to get approval from your respective school HODs. Upon their approval undergo your internship and prepare a PPT/PROJECT report. Viva will be taken by the panel and grades will be awarded accordingly. Apart from this, any kind of internship irrespective of the branch is allowed in VIT whether it is paid or non-paid. VIT tries to provide internships under its incubated startups in order to get the maximum output.

Placement Experience

3

Generally in the third year students start doing internships and industrial training followed by pre-placements in the third year 6 semester itself. Almost all top-notch companies called super dream offers like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Flipkart, and Adobe visit the campus and mostly take by offering good packages with highest ranging from 25 to 50 Lakhs. Super dream offers are then followed by Dream offers with an average package standing at INR 8 LPA with a total of 7642 students getting placed followed by 12018 offers made. Moreover, a significant rise in companies visited, average, and the highest package was seen in the year 2022 when compared to 2021 by 2.25%, 70.45%, and 13.27% respectively.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees structure is based on categories ranging from 1 to 5 where there is a hike on fees on each category that is allotted on the basis of rank secured in the VITEEE entrance exam. Fees hike in each category differs approximately from 1 to 1.25 lakh. However, scholarships are given to top 10 rank holders. Almost all the companies come to the campus during placement sessions with the highest package ranging from 25 to 50 lakhs in CSE and the average being 12 to 15 lakh. Placements in CSE specializations, ECE, and EEE are also decent with respect to other private universities.

Campus Life

4

Campus life at VIT is one of the best when compared to any other engineering college in India where students get exposure to almost everything. There are a lot of clubs and chapters in which a student gets recruited through interviews conducted by the board members. Clubs and chapters in VIT are spread across various domains like - Technical, Arts & Culture, Social Outreach, Health and Wellness, and Literature. Annual Fest in VIT is named Riveria and it is one of the best with various famous personalities from both southern and Northern industries coming to perform in the span of around 10 days. It is really a cultural extravaganza. The cultural fest is followed by a technical fest called Gravitas where you can participate in various hackathons, win their merchandise, and show your technical skills/models. On a whole fest season in VIT is really a VIBE check. There is a centralized library that has around 2.5 lakh books on science and technology, fiction, magazines, journals, and research papers.

Hostel Facilities

4

Men's Hostel in VIT is spread across a large acre and provides 1 2 3 4 6 and 8 bedded AC and N-AC accommodation to the students with a new category of apartment type hostel being added in the form of a newly constructed R block. There is huge greenery in and around the Men's Hostel and the same stands for girls' hostel. Mess is generally divided into 3 categories -VEG, NON-VEG, and SPECIAL MESS each having different fees. SPECIAL MESS is considered the best as it provides more varieties of food items over the other two messes in breakfast, lunch, and dinner respectively. Fees of the 3 messes also vary accordingly. The food quality of the mess in VIT is great when compared to other universities with a blend of both south and north cuisines prepared fresh and served hot. Hostel allotment is purely based on the academic performance where NCGPA is calculated from your present cgpa with respect to the branch topper, however in the first year hostels are allotted on a first come first serve basis.

according to my rank and branch preferences I had better options in VIT

Students can join job drives from the 7th term. Many firms visit the campus for jobs and offer roles in tech and other fields. The pay varies by firm and role. EEC has a good job rate and gives help for job prep. After my degree, I plan to work in the tech field and grow my skills.

Students are open to campus placements from 2nd year onwards. There are many companies who visit such as Delloite, Accenture, Cognizant, TCS, Amazon, NatWest, Nokia, etc. Highest package offered is 42 lpa and lowest is maybe 2-4lpa. Around 90% of students get placed here. My plans is to get a job through campus recruitment. Currently I got an internship through campus recruitment in Cognizant so the recruitment is quite nice here.

Placement Experience:

One thing I really need to appreciate at CIT is its placement training program. The placement team conducts regular sessions on 1. aptitude 2. coding 3. communication skills 4. group discussions and 5. interview preparation which helped me feel more confident during placements. The trainers were friendly and always encouraged us to improve our skills step by step. They provide continuous guidance and feedback throughout the training process. Mock interviews and one to one assessments helped me to understand my strength and weak areas and I work on improvements . These sessions not only improved my technical and communication skills but also boosted my confidence . The placement training team played an important role in preparing me for career opportunities and industry expectation

They focus heavily on communication , technical knowledge and competitive preparation ,align students with what top companies expect ,and contiuosly push us to improve and meet industry standards. Their structured training helped me to clearly identify my strengths and work on my weak areas, which made a huge difference during interviews and boosted my overall confidence. The department faculty are equally commnedable ,knowledgable ,approachable and genuinely invested in student career. Overall CIT is an excellent choice for anyone focused on building a strong and sucessful career
