Remarks

For admission to the college, one must have passed class 12th or appeared 12th in that particular year. He/She has to clear Jee mains and score around a percentile of 95% to get admission to this college

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I chose this course because of my jee mark and college preference. About the course, it's well designed, upto the mark, faculties are helpful. They are approachable, but most of the things we have to learn from ourselves only as the method of teaching are not that good But anyways overall, it's good.

Internships Opportunities

4

Internships are available from the 3rd year and even there is from the 2nd year. From our branch, there are internships at Tata Steel, Vedanta, csir and many iits also. At iits there is specifically research internship and mostly unpaid.

Placement Experience

4

It's a top NIT.So placements are average. From our branch around 11 lpa went highest and the average was 6 Lpa. From another branch like ei, cse ,ece,ee people had got many top placements like Microsoft, Google etc. Overall college average is 9 lpa and almost 95% of students are placed.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is the same as that of all NITs around 90,000 per semester for a general candidate. For another caste, I don't have an idea but it's pretty less for sc/St and even ews and obc. There are many scholarships available also.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus Life here at NIT R is one of the best things available here. Clubbing culture is the best thing and best in all NITs.There are lots of clubs for different things from drama to dance to coding etc. Campus life overall, I can say is just marvellous.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel facility is not that bad or good I can say. Overally, it is upto the mark.Single room option is given from 2nd year and in 1st year one have to share room with one people.Room size is not that large but yeah its good enough.

Gandhi Engineering College (GEC Autonomous), Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I mainly chose this course because the college is Autonomous, which allows them to update the syllabus faster than standard university colleges; seeing subjects like Python and Data Science in the early semesters really influenced my decision. The curriculum is decent for getting placed in service-based companies like TCS or Wipro since they focus heavily on the basics and aptitude, though for high-end product roles or research, you have to put in extra effort yourself. I definitely think they need to reduce the theory load and focus more on practical coding because sometimes it feels like we are just writing assignments instead of building things. Also, the junior faculty rely too much on reading from slides, which really needs to change to make classes more engaging. As for exams, it feels like we are always writing them since we have two internals and one end-semester exam per term. They are moderately difficult and the checking is strict, so you can't slack off, but the tight schedule can get quite exhausting.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course and curriculum is nice as they are interelated to each other and encourage us to study more and makes us more curious to learn new things but we have some minor course which I don't think it is required for the course and we only have some credits for that course not even exam is being conducted

Students are eligible for placement from their 3rd year onwards. It has been only 2-3 months but I have seen several companies arriving at the college, prominent ones being Flipkar,Deloitte, Xerox, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Microsoft, Dell and several others including startups. There is no accurate data on how many offers have been made this year, but there are rumours that more than 95% of the eligible students have got placements. After getting a degree my plans are if I dont land into a satisfying job then I will start my preparation of the military or start a new business.
