Aakarsh Sharma's Review On National Institute Of Technology - [NIT], Kurukshetra

I qualified JEE (paper 2) with AIR 1958 and opted for this Institute because, I wanted to study somewhere in Tranquility and peace.

The curriculum is very precisely planned and executed. The research facility is also very good. The faculty encourages out of the book knowledge and self research right from the 1st year of the college. The core subjects are Architectural Design, Building Construction And Materials, Architectural Drawing And Graphics, where the latter one is in the curriculum for 2 years and other 2 are for the whole 5 year course plan.

The Institute provides internship in various fields of work and discipline. One can apply for internship right after 1st year. The companies vary from Ansal group to DLF, so does the stipend. One can also go abroad for the internship.

Placements are high in the Institute. Out of 100, 92% of Cse students are placed with good packages. The companies that Visit the campus for recruitment are Maruti Motor Corp., Samsung, Tata, Infosys, Cisco, Google,Yahoo,Microsoft. The packages vary from 8 lacs p.a. To 20 lacs p.a.

The fees structure is somewhat feasible and easy to go for. The students can apply for various scholarship under the Institute banner. The fees is 44,000 for one semester, hostel fees is 18000 for one semester fooding and lodging included. The fees will be increased next year and other coming years.

There are many scholarships in the Institute but, unfortunately I haven't applied for any. If one want to check the scholarships awarded.

The ratio is quite irregular yet male dominated. But still girls have a lot for there buck. Provided extra security and separate hostels. The crowd is really diverse and one can find people from every part of the country. The parties are on everytime high, thanks to the various clubs and societies.

There are over 8 boys hostel and 3 girls hostel. The rooms are mainly 3 shared and singles. Every hostel is equipped with high speed Lan and WiFi facilities with over 30 mbps of speed. Every hostel has its own water supply unit and electricity unit. The food in the hostel is not that good but not at all bad.

The exam structure are somewhat hectic but they last for 1 and a half week only. All semesters have 1 midsems week and 1 end semester exam schedule planned. There's also a provision for summer semester for the ones who failed or couldn't appear for the end semester exams.

The faculty in the Institute is really dynamic. They all are master in their field, all with over 5 years of experience on the field and with over 2 projects in handy for being the professor, one must be P. hd in the field. The faculty here live for their work and are giving extra effort for the students. They are very enthusiastic for there line of work.
