Gave joint engineering test with an aptitude test for architecture. Got a call in second counselling and chose this college of the 3 architectural colleges available as this was the one with best reviews. Got a free seat also with a fee of Rs 20-24k per year.
Course Curriculum Overview
It was pretty good and clear. There were vert few electives. Most basic subjects were compulsory for all. A few subjects were elective only in the first two years. There were Seminars, Dissertations and Thesis in the senior years which were quite research oriented and knowledge enhancing.
Internships Opportunities
The last semester of B.arch is internship under a practicing architect, compulsary for all. Stipend in 2005 was rs 5000 per month. Good practical experience.
Placement Experience
Our college did not provide any placement facility. Searching job and even offices to work for internships was on our own. Architecture is not like other IT colleges providing on campus placements, though it would be a good idea having such on campus placements and for internships also.
College Events
There was an anuual college festival every year where all participated and in dance, fashion shows, exhibitions, wall painting competitions, stalls etc. A group was dedicated to getting sponsors for the festival. It was a Nice exposure with lots of fun.
Fee Structure And Facilities
During my times it was affordable, not very expensive including the bus fees also. There were two types of seats, depending on merit system-free seats with annual fees of 20-24 k and paid seats of 55k. This was over 10 years back, i m not aware of pr sent fee structure but then it was easy and affordable.
Fees and Financial Aid
No, im not aware of any such scholarship. No particular loan facility or scholarship was offered, the annual fee was payable in two parts aling with the bus fees. The college should have some kind of scholarship though for meritous students.
Campus Life
Campus life was good. With a good balance of both genders. Some batches had more number of females than males. There were many activities going on other than mainstream studies.
Alumni/Alumna
There is a alumni network which sends out emails once in a while but it isnt quite active though. Wish it would have been more active, organising more events for the alumni making us feel more connected.
Exam Structure
It was balanced, during practicals and theory exams it was quite hectic, on normal days it was cool and relaxed. Practical exams involving drawings, models, viva etc were held in the college itself while the theory exams were held at the university or other external centres.
