Entrance Preview

I studied PCME course in GGM Science college. There is no entrance for admission to this college. The merit list is based on Marks obtained in the Qualifying exam. I had chosen this course because i wanted to do M.Sc in Maths as Maths is my favourite subject.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course structure is very general in nature. Since there is no college in j&k that offers Honours degree. So i had to chose the general PCME course.The faculty is well qualified and take keep interest.

Internships Opportunities

In the college i studied. There is no internship for the general course and unfortunately No Company visited our campus

In job placements ,This college is way laggard. Since the college offers very few professional courses. Unfortunately No company visits the college

College Events

There is Annual festival being celebrated in the college. The festival primarily consists of Dogri Folk dance and Songs,Dogri and Hindi Skits. Truly depicting the Dogri culture of Jammu.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are Minority and Low income Scholarships available in the college. Since i dont belong to anyone. I did not get Scholarship.

Campus Life

The campus life is really enjoyful and safe. In this college there are Primarily Males. Girls are allowed for admission to only few courses. No racial descriminaion is there in the campus. The campus environment is very cordial.

Alumni Network is not so strong i must say. Not much help from the seniors i got.

I have interest in physics so I choose bsc in physics as major subject.. As mathematics is quite related with physics so I choose it as a minor subject.. There are two phases of exams and in these phases there is a lot of time to prepare for the exams.. However teachers method of teaching was quite friendly and soft spoken ..

Overall a good University with below average placements.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placemnt after third year. total 8 companies from local Food and beverage companies and agriculture related companie came for campus placements. Most of the student didnt take offers from the companies because none of the companies were offering more than 15k to 18k per month I also didnt take the placement offer for the same reason and now i am thinking for further studies from somewhere that have good placements Out of 23 students who were eligible for placements only 3 accepted the offer.

CUJ is Cute!!

Placement Experience:

Placements aren't that good and for Zoology it's like the research roles in labs and under research professors so mostly a salary of 30-50k is what students of Zooly gets at our college and even DU stidnets get the same.

GOVT M.A.M COLLEGE,JAMMU : A Success path to life

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose science-non medical subjects being MATHS, GEOGRAPHY, and GEOLOGY. Reasons are my interest and love for these subjects. Class students and teachers ratio is good: 40-1. Teachers' qualifications are also good: MSc, Ph.D., NET qualified. Our exams were semester-wise [once in six months]. it was easy to pass if you just study normal and attend classes.

Remarks:

A Good College Even though the college life seems like a fairy-tale to you, it is not. There are so many things that you have to be careful about when you are visiting a college and checking out its ambience. Don’t get influenced by the clean campuses that most of the colleges have; they purposely do it so that people like you get attracted to their appearance and join their team. If you don’t want to waste your hard earned money on the fees of the wrong college which spoils your fairy-tale dream, you might want to take admission in a college that’s good enough for students like you.
