Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I choose this course because I believed that this course provides more opportunities in the future and I was curious to know more about the subject. There were 7 faculty members in the department.2 of them were Ph.D. holders. All the faculty members were qualified and helpful. The teaching methods are as usual. All of them completed the syllabus before every semester exams and conducted two or more test papers in between the semester and model exams were conducted before every semester exams. The semester exams are conducted by the university. There was some time lag in conducting the semester exams. Most of the exams are conducted late. For an average studying student, it is easy to pass all the papers.

Placement Experience

4

The Career & Placement Cell in the college is very active. They are preparing the students for different placement drives. After the 5th semester, the students are eligible for campus placements. Federal Bank, South Indian Bank, and ESAF Small Finance Bank are the main banks that conducted placement drives last year. A school from Kodaikanal also conducted a placement drive. More than 50 students were placed in different banks as Clerks and Officers. My plan after the degree is to do higher studies.

Fees and Financial Aid

The tuition fee for the course is? 1000 per year. Some more money is also collected as library fees, laboratory charges, sports affiliation, recognition, etc. Exam fees are collected separately before every semester's exams. Financial assistance is available for eligible students. E-Grantz and KPCR are two among a few. College also provides Scholarships for every topper student in each class and Department wise scholarship was also provided. No job was provided by the college with a stipend.

Campus Life

4.5

The college life on the campus was very good and the memories are everlasting. The main events conducted in the college are Union Day Inauguration, Onam & Christmas Celebration, Arts Day, and College Day. College Union conducted Interdepartmental Football, Cricket & Tug Off War tournaments every year. Along with these, every department is conducting its fests. For example, ComArena by Commerce Department & Ecofiesta by Economics Department. The college has a big library which has a collection of a wide range of books on different subjects. Along with the library, a University Study Centre was also functioning which provides access to more than 100 e-journals. Many of the clubs are functioning in the college. Music clubs, Acting clubs are a few among them. NCC & NSS units are active in this college. The membership is optional. NCC Army Wing and NCC Navy Wing is functioning in the college under the Kottayam Group.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is suitable for the modern age of teaching, the way of education is well balanced with projects, assignments, presentations and also notes .we have reading assignments where the faculty members ask us to read an entire book and give our review on it.the exams are quiet moderate and in my opinion teachers should use more ai tools as a learning aid which will be more effective for the students

Placement Experience:

From the last semester pass out we a re eligible for the campus recruitment for job or placement. So many companies visit us for the interview or some checking like , hero honda , maruti suzuki etc. the main reason for it was a low amount of budget is that get from this placement maybe 15 thousand let month ect. Only the company can take the students for it so the percentage of the students who getting placement will change in every year. My plan was to get an admission in the central government University for doing master of degree in History. And try the best exam called upsc.

Economic somehow teaches us how to manage in real world.. I can connect a lot more to real world while learning economics. It is a little too difficult to learn for sem exams. The sem exam is just in 50/70 marks.. The exam timing is 1 1/2 or 2 hrs.
