Remarks
The admission process is pretty basic in GLA. They mainly sort out students on the basis of 12th marks and percentage. Mainly students above 75% can get easily opt for B.tech Computer Science. They also include one entrance exam online/offline anyone depending on the situation. After the entrance exam one PI(Personal interview takes place ) in which they ask simply very basic questions about physics, chemistry and maths. If you perform well enough you will get an admission letter via mail. Application fees and all other things are available on their official website. There are also reservation benefits as they get scholarships around 20-30k per sem.
Course Curriculum Overview
I personally choose B.tech CS as I have been really interested in this field and I usually have the interest to know about how technology is working around us in our daily life. One thing I really felt after coming to this college is that there are much more students if I talk about the section it includes around 70 students in each sec and there are plenty of sec in one course itself. However, some (mainly) teachers are well qualified in their respective filed and subject and always ready for any kind of help even at night. Mostly every class has a smartboard and whiteboard and teachers have their ppt and slides and teach students through them. Regarding exams usually, you have to face exams every after 1.5 months midterms and end term and exams are mainly of moderate level and can easily pass them if u study even 2 weeks before.
Internships Opportunities
Regarding internships then there are plenty of companies are there which come on campus and give opportunities for internships with stipends. There is also internship that is paid by students to do internship but they are usually collabed with IITs and all and I personally find them of no use. If you are having good skills then you can easily find an internship with an average amount of stipend or you have the best skills then you should apply for off-campus internship through Internshala etc because they are better than on-campus intership.
Placement Experience
Regarding placement then it is pretty good in GLA on UP if you compare through other colleges. The average package of CS is around 4.5 to 5 lakh per annum. The minimum package includes 3 lakh to the maximum package up to 35 lakh is offered by Microsoft. Around 80% of students get placed On campus itself and the remaining one applies for off-campus or opt for MBA or M.tech or prepare for the GATE exam.
Fees and Financial Aid
Although it is a private university it is much more affordable if you compare them with other private ones like Amity, UPES etc. In GLA your average academic fee is around 175k which hikes around 10k per year. The cost to study is average in GLA as it's a private university. Whereas you can also get benefits of a Scholarship of 20-25k per year if you score well enough like more than 90 in 12th boards and Jee. It also provides some internship opportunities to students with a stipend in the university itself also basis on their skills.
Campus Life
Tech fest and other cultural events are usually taking place every week by different clubs. There are so many clubs that you will find yourself in doubt that which club you should choose. For every activity, you thought there is a club for you which includes events etc. If I talk about campus life then it is pretty huge as the campus itself is spread over around 110 acres and there is a different playground for every sport. The library is also pretty good and you will find mainly every book you need even other than your subjects. Junior and senior are also very frank in nature and there is not much gap between them.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel is good and you will just provide one lan cable, the light bulb. chair, table and a kind of cardboard (4 legs) other than that you have to bring everything on your own. Electricity is always present and you will not have any problem regarding this anytime. If I talk about mess then it is average or even below but the menu is very diverse in nature itself. Registration of hostel and all takes place by the portal itself. and it cost around 65k for the hostel and 65k for mess per annum. PG and rented rooms are not so good just outside the college but you can find a decent PG or room within 12km from the college.
Interview Experience
Admission usually takes place on the basis of the 12th board's result. As students who score more than 90% on boards can directly take admission. It also has a written test on basis of which your performance is determined and whether you can get admission or not. After which one personal interview takes place in which you are asked very basic questions about physics, chemistry and maths. Students scoring more than 65% can easily go for all these. You just have to revise some basic concepts of the 12th core subjects.
Other Applied Colleges
UPES University | B.tech CS
UPES was way to expensive for me.
