Remarks
Good, definitely good. After living 7 years in hostel, I was fed up of the hostel life, but KIAMS revived that feeling. Knowing that MBA might be the highest and the last education/college i would be in, I still opted for hostel and I cherish that feeling
Entrance Preview
I took MAT in 2012, got 78 percentile and took admission from the score. I had couple of other choices too. But i found this the best from my choices. My teacher also recommended to join KIAMS. Being a college backed by industrialists, the potential exposure that we will get would be immense, thats what my idea was. Its located at a calm and serene place, I thought this is the best place to study. Apart from that the weather in this place was awesome too.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is vast but diverse, you get to learn all the aspects of management from a single source. There are subjects too basic like English which is also given much more focus due to the changing industry needs. There are couple of cool subjects like Consumer Behavior, Customer in-sighting, Market research, digital marketing, advertisement and sales promotion etc. which were fun learning and till date they helps us in our day to day life. So, Overall the course curriculum is much more advanced than any other private B-schools, that's what i have observed.
Internships Opportunities
Yes, we have some companies that come for internship every year. Here we had the option to either apply for internships from the college or even if you have good contacts and can manage to get internship at a top company, nobody will interfere in it. Paid or unpaid internships is not in college's hand. It depends from company to company. Overall, very few companies paid stipend.
Placement Experience
As far as i remember, about 80% of the students got placed. I am not making this up, I was there till the end of the college days, so I know well. The opportunities are pretty good for marketing students, the placements are very well for them, you won't run short of companies. But yes in terms of Finance, HR and Operations, the placements were a bit dry in our batch. My batch comprised of total 119 students. I don't remember the stats that well, but the highest package that was offered was around 6-7 lacs, lowest was 3 lacs. The average was around 3.7 or something. Mine too was 5.25 lacs. Some of the companies that came at my placement season were Quess Corp, Deloitte, Kotak Mahindra, Madura Lifestyle, Icici, HDFC, Lexi, CitiBank, CCD, Naukri.com and many more.
College Events
We have total of 5 events.- Operacy, a 2 day event that takes place every year. One day is the corporate event and the other is the MBA aspirants event. It comprises of all sorts of management events and games. Various colleges from the state are also invited for the event.- Samanvay and Nostalgia are events for alumni's which occurs every year on alternate basis.- Pragati, is the biggest event which occurs on a mass scale. It also a 2 day event. One is rural pragati which attracts school kids to college going students. 2nd is the commercial pragati that involves industrial fair.- Ashwamedh- is the annual sports event that comprises of all indoor and outdoor games possible. Various colleges from the state are also invited for the event.
Fee Structure And Facilities
I believe its a bit expensive. 7.9 lacs for 2 years. I know most of the college have similar structure, but the ROI from the fee structure does not seem to be fulfilled for anyone. Just compare the fees and average salary package I mentioned above. The figures will tell you all.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes, there was scholarship offered for students with excellent records throughout the career, I am not sure of it because I never availed it.Yes, a loan facility was also available, they partnered with ICICI bank I believe.
Campus Life
The gender ratio was about 60(M):40(F). Though it varies every year. Regarding extra curricular events, I would be damn straight, ITS AN MBA College, no time for all of these things. I know these are essential but go to any MBA college, the pressure will be same every where. Of-course, there are some extra ordinary students present everywhere who are able to find time for such events at hectic schedules too.
Hostel Facilities
Here comes my favorite part. I would be genuinely honest and I am sure not many will believe this but ask any KIAMS student. Everyone will agree to me that the hostel food and facilities were a class apart. I wish i could share some pics. The food was ver
Alumni/Alumna
Oh yes, definitely. The alumni's always come handy during internships, projects or placements. The network is pretty strong and its an alumni driven college. Their presence always helps.
Exam Structure
We had the trimester system. Total of 6 sems for 2 years, each lasted for about 2.5 months. The first year was pretty hectic, lots of subjects and presentations and projects etc. After internship you get to choose your electives and its completely upon yo
Faculty
The faculty of the college were superb, supportive, experienced, talented, friendly (of-course not all of them). But yes, the kind of guest faculty we had in our college, it was great. We got so much to learn. The knowledge and guidance that were provided
