Remarks
Like all other colleges under Symbiosis University, SIMS too, requires clearing the cut off of the SNAP entrance exam. The cut off is usually 92 percentile. After getting shortlisted for the same, there is a GD, WAT, PI round, where in the further competencies of the candidate is tested. The WAT topics are like complete the story kind, GD topics (if conducted) are mostly from current affairs, and the interview questions are usually about one's personality and self, with few academic questions as well. The overall process is conducted properly.
Course Curriculum Overview
MBA finance from SIMS is one of the best in the country as it is a Tier I B School. the ratio of faculty and students is around 1:35. The faculty guides are very helpful and able. They clarify concepts properly even in an online medium. Mostly, case study method is used for delivery of course. Online exams are also conducted after every term, smoothly and the difficulty level is at par with what a masters course in management from a top b school should be.
Placement Experience
The college provides 100% final placements. The higest package is around 24 lakhs per annum. Average package is 9.56 lakhs per annum. The maximum recruiters are from the Manufacturing sector as they are almost 37% of total recruiters, followed by IT (27%), Consulting (7%), FMCG (4%), etc. Star recruiters are deloitte, Accenture, HDFC Life, Viacom 18, KPMG, ICICI Bank, Nomura, etc. Summer internships also have partial placements., with the highest stipend being around 50000 Rs per month.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee is 1200000 lakhs per annum. The cost to study is reasonable considering its a tier 1 private university. Scholarships are given if you perform well in academics. Defense personnel wards have a reservation in this university, as the cut-offs and fees are also slightly lower for them.
Campus Life
There are different clubs in every specialization. They include a marketing club, finance club, HR club, Operations club, apart from that there is an academic cell, economics cell and alumni cell. There is also sports club opportunity. These clubs have 3 rounds of interviews, and there are usually approximately 5 members per team. There are 2 major fests that happen in October and March, every year.
Interview Experience
The WAT topic was complete the story kind, wherein within 20 minutes we had to write. The story is shown on video and then we have to complete it. It was easy, but timing was a slight issue. PI questions were direct and about your interests and hobbies, with few GK and academic questions, as well. There is GD also at times, where the topics are from general knowledge.
