Remarks

VELS university provides some interesting courses for its students in various streams related to the current technology. I was admitted in B.Sc Cyber Security. The admission criteria are very simple as you need to pass 10+2 with a minimum of 55% and must have computer science/mathematics/statistics. The entire application process was done online. The admission fee is Rs.3950 for this course.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course content is kept up to date with the technology since it is a technical subject. I found IoT much more interesting than other subjects. Assignments and projects helped us increase our knowledge and opened up our minds to new inventions. Seminars were conducted every month. Exams consisted of practical questions and real-life case studies. The strength of the class was also kept minimal.

Course Fees: INR 84000 per year

Placement Experience

The placements here are decent. The highest package went to Rs. 8 LPA. Both Indian and domestic MNCs visit the campus for job opportunities. My entire batch sat for the placements and got some great packages in the field of cyber security. The college has maintained a 100% placement record. Recruiters who visit the campus are TCS, Tech Mahindra, Infosys, Indiamart, ICICI Bank, and Wipro.

Fees and Financial Aid

Very less students opted for scholarships in my batch. The total amount for this course is Rs.2.41 lakhs including every charge except hostel ones. Awards are given in the form of tuition fee waivers based on scores obtained in VEE and PCM in the 12th standard. Separate form filling is required for the application for scholarships. I didn't apply for any scholarship or financial aid from the bank.

Campus Life

Nakshatra was my favorite cultural event of the year. I used to participate in this every year and my personality grew a lot in these years. International sports conferences also invited a lot of audiences and all the sports enthusiasts. The campus is spread around huge acres with lush green gardens and a fountain. The weather was also nice but mid humid. I enjoyed my life there and those 2 years were best.

Actually the college provides placement for the students and especially to the lower background students at the max. The college collaoborate with the govt. dept. to create placement drives in the college. The salary is not that much attractive still its okay only.

The placement will be happening for the 3rd year students who have registered already by paying 6000 rs. The topics companies like Accenture, TCS, wipro,etc come for placements. The highest package is around 3.5 lakhs per annum . I am opting for higher studies.

Remarks:

The infrastructure of the college campus is very good and peaceful as well. My college has a vast library which works from 8.30 a.m to 5.30 p.m on all working days and study holidays. Here if a student wants to borrow any other books other than his/her course, they need to seek prior permission of the Principal to get them books.

Vels University is not that bad

It's very easy to get admission in this college as the admission procedure is very simple. You can directly go to the head office, and you can contact the people sitting in the reception. They'll guide you and throughout the admission. Also, it's near to the airport, which should make a travel entry for the students who are coming from the other states. Also it is situated in a very good place. The college is situated in Pallavaram, which has various like basically everything is present there beat food beat hostels. it's a good place. The location of the college is very good making it very accessible other than the location. The faculties are very nice.
