Remarks

NIT Jamshedpur is one of the top NITs of the country and getting a Computer Science seat in an National Institute of Technology was a complete dream for me so I took the chance and got admitted in the very college.

Entrance Preview

I got a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering there even though my rank was 20000. I got a seat in the second round there. My percentile was 96 in the JEE Mains entrance exam which helped me in the admission there.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum of computer science included topics of programming, Data structures and algorithms Database Management System, Software Engineering, Computer Architecture and Organisation, Design and Analysis of Algorithms, Data Science, User Interface Interface Designing, Web development, graphic designing, app development, Database Connectivity, etc. These topics built my concept in the world of computer science.

Internships Opportunities

4

There were several summer internship programs that were offered to me and I got the work finished in two to three months. These internships were provided by many top companies that visited my college campus. It was very useful for me as it gave me an inevitable experience.

Placement Experience

4

The computer science branch at the college was damn good for placements. But it was totally up to me on how much interest and knowledge I had in coding. My good knowledge in coding let me get a great job with very good package. Generally, the big companies like Amazon, Infosys, Samsung, TCS and many more companies visited our college and offered a quality package to deserving students.

College Events

4

Apart from all the common events and fests, Culfest wa the annual cultural festival of the college. It was organised at national level and participants from the colleges all over India participated. The attraction of Culfest was 'Shades' which was organised by the college's FACES club members. In this a whole room was decorated in a theme using junk items. The cultural fest consisted of competitions for dance, singing, fine arts, Group Discussion(GD), JAM, Antakshri, and a fashion show. Other attractions were juke box, paper dance, street play, x-games, rock concert, and hasya kavi sammelan.

Fee Structure And Facilities

I had been admitted in the bachelor's degree course of Electrical engineering which was a four years course and cost me INR 1,04,000 per year. These were the basic tuition fees.

Fees and Financial Aid

There were many scholarships such as the Foundation for Academic excellence and access, Special Scholarship Scheme for Jammu & Kashmir, National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation, NTPC scholarship for engineering students, Indian Oil Educational Scholarship Scheme, CDIF Scholarship Program TATA CUMMINS and Merit Cum Means Scholarship to help the deprived aspirants in fulfilling their studies.

Campus Life

4

My campus life provided me the platform where I learnt that it's not enough to just embrace diversity, I need to celebrate it as well. The resources, groups and events there were open to everyone at the campus which gave a feeling of equality and also inculcated the confidence in me to work in coexistence with my fellow mates and learn simultaneously.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel life was awesome. It was not a five star hotel but it was no less than a chilling place for me. For the first time in my life I was able to explore myself and found a new way to perceive the world.

Faculty

4.5

Competing in a diverse environment is no way less than a great fortune. And I was that to seek that. Along with my batchmates, I explored the world of electronics with the mesmerising faculties who showed me how the wonders of electricity can help in the real world.

There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.
