NIT JAMSHEDPUR Review

For getting admitted in NIT Jamshedpur you need to clear JEE MAINS with a good rank. You should have physics, chemistry/biology, mathematics as your subjects in 11th and 12th. You can attempt JEE for a maximum of three years. The application form for JEE will be available on the JEE website. The application fees will be written below its generally 600 Rupees for male candidates and 325 for females. I was a DASA student and for getting admission through this quota you need to complete both the boards from abroad and have to show proof that your dad was working there hence you studied from there. After attempting JEE you have to go to the DASA website and register yourself. The application fee for that is around 22,000. The college fees differ from category to category.

I chose B.Tech in computer science and engineering because I was into coding, but you don't necessarily need prior knowledge on coding for getting in the course as many students learn when they come here itself. Faculty to student ratio is approximately 1:15 respectively. Most of the professors have completed their PhD or are pursuing PhD in their respective fields. The teaching method is good and the faculty here is really understanding. Exams are conducted are really well. I am in my first year so after completing half of the portion exams were conducted in a very smooth way. The exams were not very difficult it's easy to pass if you have gone through the class carefully but it's lengthy for sure.

From the 4th semester, students are eligible for placements. Approximately 80 companies visit the college for internships and placement opportunities. Likes of amazon, deollite, one plus and many more. The highest package of 2022 was 57 lacks by Atlassian. The average package was 12 lacks per annum. Around 85 to 90 students were placed which includes all the branches. I plan on becoming a pilot after completing my degree

The fees structure here is 163500 per year and the hostel and mess fees are 54000 approximately. The mess and hostel fees also include many other fees. It's really affordable for a middle-class family. There are many scholarships given out by the institute and the government depending on the financial condition of the student.

Many fests are conducted at a minimum of 4 big events. These are all run by student bodies and hosted by them. Tech fest is the technical fest and ojass is the cultural fest of the colleges. I exactly don't know the months they are held on but tech fest is generally held during April and may and ojass is held during November-December. There are enough books and journals in the library and students can borrow books for a certain period of time which is not too less and not too more. The classroom is high tech classroom that have good quality seats and a projector to teach.

1st-year students are supposed to share a room with a fellow batchmate. The room has two beds study table and cupboards. The second years are provided with a private room which contains a single bed, cupboard and study table. It also has a balcony which gives a great view of the outside. The food quality is pretty good. The cuisine is mostly north-Indian food and is very hygenic. For registering in the hostel a link will be provided to you during orientation or after submitting all the documents. The fees are pretty affordable. If you want to rent a pg it is available right at the gate of college but you will have to walk for approximately 20 minutes to get to your class.
