Remarks
SJIM accepts CAT, MAT, XAT, CMAT, and GMAT, with 60 percentile or above. The eligibility criteria is to have bachelors degree from recognized university with more than 60% marks in 10th,12th and UG. Applicants with more than two arrears are not considered. Following my MAT and CMAT exams, I applied for PGDM in St.Joseph's through the online application form that was available in official website (sjim.edu.in), the application fees is Rs.1000/-. After applying, I received mail confirmation on the same and the date of face-to-face interview was sent through mail. On the day of interview, there were two rounds. The first was a written test which was for 30mins to write two essays on topics given. The second round was a face to face interview. The results of the selection was published in the college website.
Course Curriculum Overview
I have taken PGDM in Finance and Operations. The syllabus for each subject is updated every year according to recent trends. SJIM takes 180 students every year. There are more than 20 professors in various disciplines and more than 10 visiting faculty. Lectures are facilitated through powerpoint presentation with active discussion and industry practices are understood through articles/case study discussions. Most of the questions in exam are application based. By listening to lectures and reading from text book and cases, one can score very well in exams at SJIM.
Internships Opportunities
Summer internships after completion of first year is compulsory in SJIM. Some of the companies that offers internship are Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Tenhard, Shriram finance, Outlook and many more. The highest stipend of Rs.50,000 each month was given by Morgan Stanley this year.
Placement Experience
For the batch of 2019-2021, nearly 100% of the students were placed. For the batch of 2020-2022, placements are going very well with the highest package being 22 Lakhs and lowest being 5.5 Lakhs. Some of the frequent and top recruiters are Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Delloite, KPMG, PwC, EY, Reliance, Accenture, TCS and many more.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees of Rs.8,00,000 is to be paid in four instalments, two each year (Rs.2,00,000 each instalment). There are three types of scholarships available at SJIM. For students in the top 10 (CGPA more than 7.6) are given a Merit scholarship each year. For students in economically poor category, ten students every year are given scholarship.
Campus Life
Pinnacle an intra-college business fest (competition) , which is conducted under various domains by second year students for the first year students. Verve is an inter-college business fest, which is conducted by SJIM students for other management colleges. Other events such as Conclaves for domains like Marketing, Finance, Operations and HR, International conference, and JPL (Sports League) are some of the major fest/events in SJIM, which creates multiple opportunities for students to take leadership roles. Infrastructure of SJIM campus is good with wifi access, smart classes, auditoriums, computer lab with more than 60 computers, library with more than 20,000 books and access to several databases such as EBSCO, CRISIL etc. Clubs such as toastmasters, CSR, operations, finance, marketing, and HR are run by students.
