Remarks

The admission process is pretty smooth. Previously before covid, the admissions were done based on your CET rank but after covid admissions are based on your CLAT rank. After that, the counseling procedure will take place, and accordingly you will be allotted college based on your rank.

Course Curriculum Overview

The faculties are pretty good here. Even though everything was online but teachers put great effort into explaining everything with ease. Term exams were delayed a bit due to COVID but otherwise, exams are pretty easy if you have studied well.

Internships Opportunities

VIPS offers internships to its students. They suggest some very good internships like internships in NGOs or with some good corporate firms. Like VIPS legal aid society often runs projects and visits from time to time to make students more aware.

Placement Experience

As far as I know, being a law student students from 4th year are eligible to sit in the placements. There are many companies the good ones that have visited VIPS in the past. The lowest package offered was 3 lakh and the highest depends on company to company and your performance of course. My place after getting a degree is either to get placed in a good law firm or go for litigation.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

The fees are as per the infrastructure, teaching and the facilities that the college provides us. Although there hasn't been a significant hike in the fees if we compare it from last years. VIPS provide scholarship to only those who can't afford such high fees. The scholarship is provided as per the procedure as stated on their website.

Campus Life

VIPS has a huge basketball court and also other extracurricular activities like debating, mooting, client counseling competitions are being conducted from time to time. There are many groups and societies that VIPS offers such as NSS, NCC, debating society, Moot court society, enacts, cultural society, and many more.

Bballb for me is quite difficult as I am from humanities background. Studying law in VIPS is quite hectic and exhausting because you have classes from 9:30-4:30 with a lunch break of only 30 mins. Attending every classes is quite exhausting

Course Curriculum Overview:

The LLB course is much respected when you take from our campus i.e. Campus Law Centre for 3 year LLB course. Many respected alumni are there like the current CJI Mr.D.Y.Chandrachud and 7 other sitting judges of SC. Many societies like Legal Aid Society is good for exposure to outer world. The exams are not too difficult when you go hand-in-hand with curriculum.

Placement Experience:

There is a PLACEMENT CELL run by students of the FACULTY of law which is least accessible or used to be accessed by students. Besides all of them, some of the students prefer to prepare for judiciary to be a judge or some of them dream to be a good criminal lawyer or a civil lawyer depending upon their choice. As much as I'm concerned after getting my degree I'm planning to pursue LLM from the same University and thereafter PhD which again provides you with plenty of opportunities like teaching as a professor in Law Colleges. Overall I can say once you have earned a degree from this prestigious institution you will definitely find your way towards success.

VIPS - A Delhi Dream

I applied to Delhi University as well. I got a confirmed admission in Vivekananda College of DU in the BA Programme course for English and French. I chose VIPS over DU because here I got an Honours course, whereas I did not get an Honours course in DU. So even though the fee is much higher, I went for VIPS. I did not reach the cutoff for English Honours in DU, that's why I got rejected. The DU cutoff was 92% whereas I had 89% (best of 4). The admission process includes giving the IPU-CET exam.
