Remarks
The admission process usually starts early as compared to other private universities. Vit charges you like 2-3k for the entrance exam and then 5k for course counselling. There is just a round of course selection and once decided, you can't change your branch. All the information reading the exam are available on vit's official site. Keep checking for the dates of registration as registration starts around December.
Course Curriculum Overview
The faculty is nice, many of them are really helpful. If you are lucky you may get a professor who is ready to help you 24*7. But yeah there are no blacklisted professors and it is really difficult to study a subject under them. So I would say, it's a mix of both. We usually have three exams, two unit exams and one final sem exam. Every student has four types of courses, they are program and university core(all courses under these two categories are compulsory) and program and university elective (you can choose a course from this category and do whatever you wanna pursue). Like I had classical music last sem and this sem I have Chinese as a course.
Internships Opportunities
Various companies offer training programs and internships starting from the 4th semester and it goes till the 6th semester. I am still in the second year so really don't have much idea about internships but yeah, we have a capstone project of 12 credits which is compulsory for every third year student.
Placement Experience
Vit has very good campus placement. Almost all great companies visit in the first two months. Latest there are recruiters. Vit has cgpa criteria for the interview which is ideally around 8,8.5 and as far as I know, you can't reject a super dream offer (10lakh+). Also, an Internship is compulsory for every third year student.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees are based on your rank and category. It varies from 1.5 lakh to 4.85 lakh for the same course depending on your rank. Like you can get core cs at 35 thousand ranks in viteee if you are willing to pay 5 lakh tuition fee every year.
Campus Life
Vit is known for its campus life. We have multiple fests. Rivera and Gravitas are really popular. Vit organizes hackathons and various other events. We have more than 600 clubs and chapters, you just name it. We have an anime club and a cubing club too. There are various NGOs working within the campus. Vit has the latest college library in India.
Hostel Facilities
The room allotment is based on your gpa. No student can live outside the campus if they are not staying with their parents. A student is allowed to join as a day boarder only if their parents live within 65 radii. You compulsorily have to stay in the hostel. Vit provides, 1 bedded 2 bedded 3 bedded 4 bedded and 6 bedded rooms both AC and non AC. 15k is taken as caution money and 15k for hostel admission as one-time payment. In mess three options are available, veg nonveg and special. The food served in the mess is edible. Like one can survive. It's not ghar jaisa khana but one can manage.
