Remarks

A student must have completed the 12th standard from a recognized board in the Science stream. The student should have at least 60% in HS to apply for the exam. Admissions are taken ONLY through CEE Exam, which is a state-level engineering entrance exam. Every year the conducting body(ASTU/DTE, Assam) releases applications from their website. Students can fill it out online and submit all the necessary documents. Application dates are generally between January to March. After the exam, based on your state ranks, students are called for counseling at Guwahati, Assam where they are allowed seats in various engineering colleges in Assam.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

CSE is the leading branch in engineering these days and so it was the best choice. The faculties of this department are very skilled and knowledgeable. The faculty-to-student ratio is approximately 1:30, which is great. Most of the faculties are Ph.D. holders and the rest have completed their MTech. Their teaching methods are very much conceptual and all doubts are cleared. About the exams- Odd semester exams are held in December and even semester in June. Due to the pandemic since 2020, exam times are fluctuating still.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

The T&P Cell often keeps the students informed about various internship opportunities. Also, the T&P Cell provides some really good training opportunities at esteemed firms and government institutions like IIT Guwahati, MSME, etc.

Placement Experience

4

Since the college was established in 2017, only one batch has passed out till now, ie, the 2021 batch. Students in the 7th Semester are eligible to sit for placements, be it campus or off-campus. For the 2022 batch, till now many students have been already placed in MNCs like TCS, Cognizant, Capgemini, etc. For the 2021 batch, the highest package was around 15LPA and around 50% of students got placed.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are pretty much the same every year. You only have to pay once a year. Around 13000 INR as college fees and an additional 9000 INR if you choose to stay at the college hostel. There are various scholarships about which students are updated from time to time. Most of them are government-funded scholarships. Financial assistance may be provided(in extreme cases) There are on-campus placements. The T&P Cell of the college is proficient.

Campus Life

3.5

Resplandor is the annual fest held on the campus. It is generally held between February and March. Tech fest is also held at the same time as resplandor. The college has a good equipped library and a reading room for the students. There are various sports held during the sports week including cricket, football, volleyball, badminton, etc. There are various clubs in the college like a coding club, debate club, etc which help students in their extracurricular activity.

Hostel Facilities

3

As mentioned earlier, hostel fees are around 9000 INR per year. Each room accommodates 2 students each. Bathrooms are common for everyone. Each student is provided with a bed, a table, and a chair. Electrical equipment like a fan, lights are already available and students don't need to bring those on their own. There is a solar supply in case of power cuts. Hostel meals need to improve a lot. It's bad. Hostel affordability- Hostel rooms will be allocated at the time of admission to the college based on the availability of seats. There are local PGs present for both boys and girls within a 2km radius where students can live if they don't get a hostel seat.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum they will show you before admission is completely different what you will be getting. They will be covering things but not with a higher level. In a subject easy topics will be covered but when teacher find any topic difficult , it will not come in exam since everyone has to pass the exam. They can just follow the GATE exam curruculum and that would be enough for any students to outperform after engineering with real time lap teaching. There is semister exam only where you will have to give workshop and lab exam along with theory paper

Placement Experience:

Placements start from 7th semester (4th Year). Companies like Amazon, Legato, TCS, Synopsis, etc. visit for on campus placements. We have a very good placement ratio and average package. For CSE, the average package was 13 LPA and 92% students were placed. While for ECE, the average package was 8 LPA and 66% students were placed. I'm planning on gaining work experience for 2 years after my B.Tech and then pursue MS Or M.Tech from abroad.

Placement Experience:

The placement scenario is quite good, with several reputed companies like General Electric, Power Grid Corporation of India, Goldman Sachs, among others recruiting 94 percent of the students in the college. The placement takes place in three rounds, one testing one's aptitude, followed by an hour round, finally leading on to a technical round. Mock interview and job cracking sessions are organized regularly, both by the departments, and also the Training and Placement Cell, to prepare students for the interviews and examinations going forward. The Training and Placement Cell also provides internship opportunities at the end of third year for the students, based on their aptitude and abilities

Remarks:

I have mostly positive remarks about college except for the fact that the college is situated really far from mainstream north India. Train connectivity is not that strong to rest of country. But despite that the college is extremely good in the sense of learning, meeting new innovative minds, and of course placements and jobs.
