IIT Jodhpur Review

During my JOSAA counselling, I have to choose from three colleges IIT Jammu, IIT Goa and IIIT Jodhpur. I choose IIT Jodhpur because it is among the top 50 engineering colleges of India and its infrastructure is also modern and the faculty is good and the placement is for B.Tech is also good. The admission process of the college was very smooth and the staff of the college was very cooperative and friendly.

The curriculum is flexible and is properly synced with real-world scenarios. The curriculum gives us insight into technology and the importance of coding and programming in today technological environment. The curriculum helps us to develop our analytical skills and decision-making skills.

The internship is mandatory and we can opt for an internship after completing the 3 years of our program. If we are involved in any kind of research activity we can skip the internship by providing the document as required to the pavement committee. The average stipend for the internship is around 40k. Approx 55 companies visit our campus during the internship program.

The college provides good placement and has a record of 100% placement. The college placement committee plays a crucial role in the college placement drive. We have to register our names with the college placement committee so that they can guide us in our placement process. The highest salary package for our batch was around 27 LPA and the average salary package was around 12.50 LPA. Apprx 75+ companies visited our campus for the college placement drive.

The average complete course fee is approx 4.50 lakh which is pretty reasonable in comparison to many other IITs of India. The return on investment according to the fee is good. The college provides scholarships through schemes like Merit Cum Scholarship. Scholarships to Sc/ST/PWD is also available.

The campus life of the college is good. The campus is spread over 800 acres of land and the campus is surrounded by greenery. The campus infrastructure is well maintained. Aaftab, Ignus, Spandan, etc are the college annual fest that the college organises. The classrooms are modern and very spacious. The library of the college is very good and all types of books are available from different kinds of authors around the world. WiFi facility is provided around the campus.

The hostel infrastructure is well maintained. The rooms are big and spacious. Rooms are equipped with beds, study tables, almirahs and AC. The hostel mess food is of good quality. At the price point of 10k hostel is worth it. The hostel provides us with 24 hours of WiFi facility. The 24 hours of water supply and power supply is also available. The hostel wardens and staff are very cooperative and supportive and they really work hard to maintain the hostel decorum.

The faculty is of PhD level and with good industrial exposure which is very beneficial for us. The college does not compromise with the quality of faculty and the faculty are mostly young but master in their respective subjects. The faculty always motivates us and assists us during the research activity.
