SCMS, Pune: Shaping tomorrow's managers

The application process was simple and I was assisted throughout by my career counselor. The entrance exam consisted of four sections: General Awareness, Logical Reasoning, Verbal Ability, and Quantitative Ability. There were in total 120 questions, which is 30 in each section. The key is time management and remaining calm. After the entrance exam, the shortlisted candidates had to go through a PI-WAT process (Personal Interview and Written Ability Test). On the basis of the compiled scores, the candidates were then enrolled in the course.

The Course Curriculum is very flexible and gives you a deeper understanding of every aspect of Business. The dual specialisation option particularly stands out since it allows a student to choose from a wide variety of subjects and create their own array of learnings. The teaching method is based more on case studies and practical examples. They do not glorify textbook learning rather emphasize experiential learning. The projects and assignments are all based around research and doing MOOC courses to enhance the skill set. Writing and publishing research papers is an essential component and the learnings for the same are given by experienced professors. The term-end exams are difficult in terms of time management and level of the exam.

The Internship and Career Development Cell is the body responsible for bringing in internship opportunities and helping students gain practical experience. The internship opportunities range from content development intern to recruiting interns, from equity research to business analysis.

The students become eligible for campus placements in their final year and have an option to register for placements. Companies like KPMG, PWC, Deloitte, Accenture, MGH, Zomato, Barclays, etc. Placement percentages have been all-time high during the pandemic at 96.77% and the same was covered by various media platforms. The highest domestic package is 10LPA and the highest international package is 12LPA.

The fees structure is similar to any private institution. There are three installments throughout the year to pay the academic fees and the payment is done through a portal, making the entire process hassle-free.

Life at SCMS, Pune is amazing. The infrastructure is well maintained and developed in all the ways to suit the needs of the students. The extra-curricular include clubs, societies, and boards. The extra-curricular is run by the students and help the students gain important life and business skills. Sympulse is the most happening fest in Pune and is one of the biggest events all around the year.

The hostel accomodation is very well maintained and very well organized. The infrastructure is modern and developed. The hostel is always available to cater to the needs of the students. The mess food has a lot of variety and options to choose from.

There was no Group Discussion, however a personal interview round. The personal interview was more like an interaction of all your extra-curricular and curricular activities throughout your school life.
