Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is highly relevant, reasonable and useful for students. It is thoughtfully designed to cater to both theoretical knowledge and practical applications, ensuring students' are well prepared for real world challenges and future academic pursuits. The curriculum covers various areas like marketing, finance, human resource, management, and international business that are essential for anyone pursuing a career in business management.
Internships Opportunities
Placement cell consistently keeps bringing internship opportunities to students. Some with stipend, some without. Some internships don't have a proper management, as in, the company don't coordinate well and it gets annoying at a point.
Placement Experience
Companies keep coming for hiring since 3rd year starts. Students get placed after goin through exam, group discussion, interview. Mostly placements are offered in Finance and Marketing fields. I'm more into International Business and companies related to that are not coming to our college. So I didn't apply for placements and I will apply off-campus in that field
Fees and Financial Aid
In the first year, for the first semester, you pay SEM1 fees along with security deposit of around 10 or 15,000. And then, on the arrival of SEM2, SEM2 fees will be paid, which is same as SEM1. And in the second year, the SEM3 and SEM4 fees will have an increment of around 20,000-30,000. And in 3rd year in third year also, some increment will be there of fees for both the SEMs.
Campus Life
Benches r bad af. Washrooms also very small. Smartboards are there which is very interacting and helpful in learning. AC not there, so in summer time it's annoying as hell. Events keep happening regularly. Lot of clubs and events that are fun and engaging. I love the Pitstop event at Sympulse fest of our college.
Hostel Facilities
Bed Matress Table Chair Cupboard Shelf Bucket Mug 2 tube lights 2 fans For 2 people in the twin sharing room. Send a mail for hostel registration, pay fee and you will be allotted a roommate and hostel, room number. Meals r good sometimes, bad sometimes. But the menu offers a range of variety. However it's a boring menu sometime.
Admission
I chose Symbiosis because it offered International Business which is of my keen interest. When I contacted other colleges and enquired about this course, they said they don't have this course or some said "we're not sure". I mean how can they be not sure of their own curriculum? And I applied only to SYMBIOSIS. Now I'm in my final year and dual specializing in International Business and Marketing. For the admission process, firstly fill the application form and then they'll also conduct a mock test when main entrance exam is around a month away or smtg. And then Symbiosis Entrance EXAM (SET EXAM) happens. After qualifying that, the student is shortlisted to WAT (written assessment test). It's like an essay writing test, you will be given a topic and 20mins of time. Lastly it's the PI (personal interview) and then merit list or not depends on student performance.
Faculty
In 1st year, the core subjects are taught which are like basics of all specialisations. Each subject has 4 credits such as internal test, MCQ, assignment and project. Totals for 40marks. The internal test is conducted twice as in test 1 and test 2. Students has the choice to pick which test they wanna give or if they wanna give both tests. Later when students pick their specialisations in 2nd year, these subjects have 3 credits - 30marks. It has internal tests, MCQ and project. After that externals will be there, final exams.
Interview Experience
Yea, i had a WAT which is written assessment test where I'm supposed to write an essay on the topic given in 20mins. I remember I was given a topic about Abdul Kalam's words.. smtg Each person is given a different topic. You can sit in your home and give this test, no need to go to centre for this like for SET exam.
Night Life
Not related to college, but around college lot of parties keep happening. You easily get updates on college groups regarding late night parties. Hostel room is good enough, I live in twin sharing. They give a shelf, cupboard, table, chair, mattress and bed each for each student in the room. Buckets n mugs also provided. Hostel food is sometimes good, sometimes bad. Hostel timing is you can go out anytime during day, but should be back before 9 or 10pm. if u should go out at n8, your parent needs to send a mail to warden for night out.
