Entrance Preview

IIT - I Scored 90 I chose BSC IT because I loved everything about technology and softwares. I am a geek and want to achieve something in this field & I chosed Ranchi College because it is one of the best colleges in my city.

Course Curriculum Overview

Curriculum is easy and depends on how we study and how hard we work on it. IT has been one of the best fields from long time. The college staffs are very good, kind and helping.

Internships Opportunities

I am still in 1st year so i do not know much about this but I did listen from my seniors that they had their internship with Snapdeal. I do not have much knowledge about this.

Placement Experience

Last year 60 seniors were placed in Wipro, TCS, Accenture, Infosys and FlipKart. Placements depends on your academic results. The college supports us alot in these. The highest package last year was 6 lacs.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee is less. 13500 Rs every year is not much for IT students. We have to pay 13500 Rs in the month of July every year. Plus 2700 subsidiary subjects fee every year and 700 examination charge twice an year.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarship facility is available for BC, BC2, ST & SC students only and for general students there is no such rewards.

Campus Life

Campus is good. And lab is good too. Gender ratio in my department is about 4:1. The economic status of our college is good. We had few competitions and sport events which were well organised.

Alumni/Alumna

Senior students are helping and cooperative. They help us whenever we need. They guide us. The college has an Anti-Ragging Community so no ragging is done by the seniors.

Exam Structure

We have 4 exams every year. That means 2 exams per semester. The mid sem exam & the end sem exam. So, there is not much rush. And pressure is also less. Between we have 3 main subjects and 2 subsidiary subjects.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Actually biotechnology is an interdisciplinary program where we have to learn mostly the practical skills but there is no such equipment for doing a decent type of research work as they are not in a working condition. So first it has to be corrected and new equipment should have to buy for a making a good laboratory.

A Transformative Journey : My College Experience

Placement Experience:

The campus placement in our college is held after the completion of all 6 semesters and there is very limited number of companies that come over to offer placement but off campus placements starts from 6 semester onwards. The companies visited were Vedanta for graduate trainee offering 1.40 - 4.65 LPA Tata Power for graduate trainee offering 1.90 - 3.69 LPA Only 40% students got placements. Many students didn't take part as the packages very low & even the perks were not so good. I planned to do higher studies in M.Sc. As the subject was very intriguing I preferred pursuing more knowledge.

BITM is known for great placements. Campus placement is good . Average package is 15 lpa. CS -19 lpa Mnc- 15 lpa Ece- 15lpa Mech- 10lpa BITM offer better placement than most of NITs. Many students crack off campus placement. CS highest- 1.86cr MNC highest- 89lpa.

Because I made my mind so clear and I was interested in coding. Faculty of Information technology department is far good and their management system is nice they guide us in a far easier way. The student ratio is 100 : 50-50 The teaching methods on this pandemic is now online but the teachers put their efforts in a way for good. In terms of exams, the IT department is smart and they conduct in the priority of students best possible way so all the students can may appear their exams properly.

St. Columbas college Is the best in my city

Course Curriculum Overview:

I am chosen this course because mathematics is my strongest subject from all of the others that's why I can choose mathematics. Faculty member of our college is very supportive but some of the teachers are very rude behaviour. Our college teachers are very disciplined about teaching and any project work. My class have 250 students. Every semester our college takes mid sem exam then a viva exam, assignment on every paper, group discussion, surprise test. The exam pattern was based on their classes. The exam pattern is moderate most times.

Remarks:

Positive: Good staff, your work will be finished in a day or in two days. Negative: There are group of aggressive students active in campus but don't worry they don't problem for you until you mesh with them. Also there in lack of proper classes and study in regular order.
