Remarks
I would rate good but perhaps can be little better. Management/Faculties are co-operative but placement is the one area for improvement.
Entrance Preview
I chose Sikim Manipal University as was looking for MBA in HR as my specialization. I just have never thought of any other career options. Yes, I had gone through an interview process where there were PI and GD as part of admission process.
Course Curriculum Overview
To be very honest the course structure was just made for me. As I got married in the middle of the course, so had not much time for regular studies. There was 4 semesters, starting with general management papaers in first two semesters and the following two semesters had specialization papers.
Internships Opportunities
No.College doesn't provide any direct internship. Although there were some contacts of our college in some other organizations where many students work to gain practical knowledge. Not sure about the stipend as I have never gone for that.
Placement Experience
The placement structure was good. Companies like BSNL,RELIANCE, MARUTI,JINDAL STEEL, etc provide job opportunites.well I am not sure but they offer was in between 2-4LPA. There was 50 placements done out of 175 capacity.
College Events
Many events were held by my college.some are technical, cultral and also management related. Technical sessions were more of to improve interviewing and GD skills.Same way yearly cultural program was organized by college to have some dance, singing, face-off events. One of the Management festival, I can tell that we participated in a new branch opening function of ICICI bank.
Fee Structure And Facilities
It was feasible. I spent around 70 K for the whole course. It was divided equally into four parts and paid before the start of each semester. Minimal exam fee was also charged but that is a very minimal amount.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions
Scholarship facility was not available, but loan approval was easy as the college was tied up with some Banks. So the banks were providing student loan for this.
Campus Life
As for any other college, the campus life was awesome. There was extracurricular activities, like stage show, dance, music, etc happens every year. Gender ratio wise I can say it was 60-40. Regular GDs and debates also carried out by college management.
Hostel Facilities
well the hostel fasility was good.i would rate 7 out of 10.they provide nonvegetarian three day in a week. The foods are of good quality.every body have there separate bed. Entertainment and sports rooms were also present for refreshments. Dedicated computer lab was there, although very few systems were present but was managible.
Alumni/Alumna
we are all attached with social networking site, i.e. facebook. A group is created by us and most of us are joined there to share their experience and oppurtunity they have in their organizations.
Exam Structure
Although the exams and labs were very frequent but not at all hectic. There was a good break time between consecutive exams. More over most of the exams were scheduled one per day.So we were getting reasonable time for the preparation. For the surprise tests, yes they were hectic as there could be many back to back tests in a single day. But for the semester exams are generally have a good gap between them.
Faculty
All the faculties were well qualified and understands students interest. Each and every query asked by students are always appreciated and answered by them. More of the classes had practical exmples to understand the concept, hence brings interest in the subject.
