I am from Dehradun, Uttarakhand and IIT Roorkee is very popular among the youth in Dehradun. Every aspirant engineer first college priority is IIT Roorkee and I am also one of them that wanted to be part of IIT Roorkee. To be part of IIT Roorkee candidate must clear the GATE exam and must pass its B.Tech with a minimum of 55% marks followed by a written test and PI round. The final admission is made after COAP counseling. I had also worked hard for GATE so that I can get into IIT Roorkee. IIT Roorkee has a good placement record which is why I was a little more inclined to the college as I do not move out from Dehradun. IIT Roorkee is one of the best colleges in Uttarakhand.

The curriculum of the college is very flexible that can adapt to the changing scenario of the industry and is properly in sync with the real-world scenarios. I choose the CSE program because I feel that CSE has better scope in the future and IIT Roorkee is one of the good places to be for the CSE program in Uttarakhand.

After completing the first year of our program we are required to opt for the internship program. The college placement committee provides us with the list of participating companies for internships but if we want to do internships off-campus we are free to do it. The stipend for the internship starts from Rs. 12000/- to Rs. 1,67,000/-.

The college has a tremendous placement record. The college provides 100% placement to its students. There are 3 phases of placement but students do not have to worry because the college placement committee helps and guides us throughout the placement process. The highest package for our batch went up to 65 LPA and the average package was around 18 LPA. Companies like Alphonso, Amazon, Analog Devices, AppDynamics India Pvt. Ltd., Bajaj Auto Ltd., Codenation, Cohesity, Flipkart, Goldman Sachs, Intel Technology Pvt. Ltd., Jaguar Land Rover, JPMorgan Chase & Co., Micron Technologies Operations India LLP, etc participated in the recruitment process of the college.

The college provides scholarships to meritious and SC/ST/PWD students through various scholarship programs. I could afford the college fee so I did not opt for any kind of scholarship. The college campus life is very good and fun. Uttarakhand is a very beautiful state and the campus is surrounded by lush greenery. The college organizes many events and sports competitions. The college infrastructure is well maintained and is outstanding. The college fest named Thomso is a 3-day event that includes DJ Night, Dancing performance and many celebrity singers are invited to the campus for performance. In the technical fest of the college, many renowned colleges of India participate in the fest. The college library is the collection of Databases, Books, and national and international journals. The library is heaven for book readers. The classrooms are big and spacious.

The hostel is also well maintained. The rooms are big spacious and available on triple, double, and single sharing options. The hostel warden and staff are friendly and cooperative. The hostel has 24 hours p[ower supple and WiFi connectivity. The hostel students do not have to worry about security. The mess food is good and the menu keeps on changing. The hostel is equipped with all kinds of facilities and amenities for students.

The faculty of the college is very experienced and cooperative. The college faculty always guides and motivate us to take part in cultural activity and extra-curricular activity. The faculty focuses on the overall development of students' personalities. The faculty is very knowledgeable in their respective field and are eager to share their knowledge.
