My college experience

There are tons of extracurricular activities present here. From sports to arts, everything is here. There's nothing only for boys or girls, every event is equally arranged for active participation of all students. And I feel negativity about the study hrs which is almost 10 hrs.

Several GIS companies come for placement at IIRS as it is termed the best remote sensing institute in India. Companies like ESRI, MapMyIndia come with a good package. But as IIRS is mainly a research institute so most of the students opt for a doctorate after their course. Also, we got the opportunity to present our case study and research works at different national and international conferences.

Nakshathra national techno-cultural fest, glitzbits fest, simthesis national level management fest. Sim carnival, simgaala, the National Level Management fest of Saintgits Institute of Management, Kottayam provides an interactive platform for future managers to showcase their talents and abilities in a highly competitive environment. Simthesis has been well received by the management,cooperative world, and the student community.

Fee Structure for the M.Tech course is Rs. 1.42 Lakh. It is to be submitted to the bank account of IIRS through NEFT at the start of the course, If you want you can pay with installments. Also, students have to pay hostel fees of Rs. 2000-2500 monthly. For M.Sc the course fee is high (I don't know the exact amount) because they have to visit the Netherlands for six months.

IIRS provide Golden Jubilee scholarship to meritorious students. Students who got the highest GPA from every department got this scholarship. The amount of this scholarship is Rs. 8000 per month. The same scholarship is available for Post Graduate Diploma students also.

IIRS campus is one of the best in the country. Lush greenery can heal your mind every day. There is a CISF police force for security in IIRS. So you feel secure inside the campus. Also, IIRS emphasizes extracurricular activities. Students can play different games like badminton, cricket, football in the playground. Every year an annual sports competition is organized where every student can show their skills.

Yes. Hostels in IIRS are the best in the country. There are four hostels - Yamuna, Alaknanda, Godavari, and Bhagirathi. Recently IIRS opened a new hostel named Vikram Sarabhai Hostel for boys. Every student in IIRS got single occupancy and the hostel rooms are awesome. Every room has a geyser, study table, study lamp. It's just best.

IIRS has a vast alumni network. Most of the alumni are very much renowned in their field. Also, the alumni network is very much helpful. They guide students on how to prepare for future life. Different opportunities in India and abroad. I also got help from many of my seniors.

The faculties in IIRS are scientists from ISRO. They are very much knowledgeable and student-friendly. They teach from fundamentals and clear all student doubts. Most of the faculties are doing doctorate or post-doctorate. In the 1st module, almost 2-3 lectures are to be taken every day from 9 am to 1 pm. In the second part from 2 pm to 5 pm, there is a lab session where the students can apply the lecture contents in the laboratory. For case study and final year projects students have to take one faculty as their guide. The faculties are very much helpful as guides and they direct students to do good research.
