IIRS, Dehradun

The institute course structure and facilities they provide us is very great but since it is a training institute, we don't get the full freedom of the normal University, there are CISF (Centralised industrial security force) guarding the institute 24*7. So we have to follow proper instructions given by them.

Course curriculum is very diverse and it include both theory and practical exams, and we go to the field visits too. There are exams based on modules, as I am doing my m.tech so there are total three theory modules and in each module the final exam is of 70 marks the rest of 30 marks are given by assignment, quiz, unit test, etc.

Since there is no placement department in IIRS, Dehradun. But there is a huge research opportunities in the field of remote sensing and gis, and some companies are also interested to hire skilled manpower in the remote sensing and gis field.

There are total two committees here 1. Recreation committee and 2. Mess committee, there are students from all over the India so almost every festival is celebrated here with great pleasure. Also frrshers party and farewell parties also organized by this committees

The institute is affiliated by Andra University. The fee structure is very feasible in terms if other post graduation University. The genral fee structure is 1,60,000 for M.tech. Which includes the total fee of the post graduation.

Here in m.tech branch there are total 40 students. And eight specialization, so in each specialization there are 5 students. In thus 5 students one topper student from each module gets an golden jubilee scholarship of 8,000/month.

There is one recreation committee that manages the sports and extra circular activities in the institute. There are two badminton courts, table tennis court and football and cricket equipments. There is also a sports meet every year in January.

Yes I have opted for the hostel and the infrastructure of the hostel is quite good in comparison to other universities hostels. There is a proper dormitory for two students with attached bathroom. And therr are also recreation facilities like television, common area, etc

There is not a particular alumni portal in our institute but we all are get in touch of our seniors, and they also very helpful in each and every problem that we face. And there are few wats app group also that we all are connected.

There is first submit the admissions form they shortlist us based on our merit, then there is an entrance exam and if we clear that exam we can go for the interview. After the interview students are shortlisted based on their merit.

In this institute all the faculties are scientist and has a good knowledge on their Field. Almost all the scientist have done their Phd from various IITs. They are excellent in their job and good teachers too.
