IIT Bhubaneswar Review

Why I choose IIT Bhubaneswar simple because my elder brother was part of IIT Bhubaneswar and received a good placement and is placed in the USA and he suggested me the college as he told me that the faculties and the curriculum of the college are best and as I was also having a work experience so my brother told me to be part of the college and IIT Bhubaneswar also suits my preferences. To be part of IIT Bhubaneswar students must clear the GATE exam and should pass graduation with a minimum of 60% marks and 555% for SC/St students followed by a written test and PI round. Students can fill the admission form by visiting the college official website by paying application fees of Rs. 300 and Rs. 150 for SC/ST?PWD students.

The college follows the latest industrial norms and international standards for its curriculum. The curriculum is divided into 4 semesters. The curriculum is designed to impart students with knowledge of technology and to develop their innovative skills and leadership quality so that they can lead the organisation from the front. The curriculum is a mixture of modern and traditional teaching techniques.

The candidate is eligible for an internship after completing the first year. The college placement committee helps us and guides us during the summer internship program. If a student is involved in any kind of research or in any innovative activity can skip the internship program after providing details about its activity to the placement cell. The internship stipend depends according to the company and the tenure of the internship usually internship program is of 7 to 8 weeks. The stipends range between Rs. 20000/- to Rs 95000/-. Around 35+ companies participated in the summer internship program.

I did not have any doubt regarding the placement of IIT Bhubaneswar as one of the examples of IIT Bhubaneswar placement is in my home my elder brother. The college has a record of 100% placement record. The placement cell of the college is successful to invite the market leader for the college placement cell. the highest placement package for our batch was around 55 LPA and the average package was around 15.89 LPA. I also received a package of around 25 LPA. Few of my batch mates received pre-placement offers during their internship program. Companies like Jaguar Land Rover, Amazon, Goldman Sachs, GE India, Honeywell, Microsoft, Google, Adobe, L&T, Tata Steel, etc participated in the college placement drive.

The college provides scholarship to meritorious students and scholarship for SC/St students is also available. I was not able to receive any kind of scholarship so I have to bear my own expenses. The campus life of the college is fun and friendly. The seniors and the college administrative staff is very friendly and cooperative. The college organizes the fests like Alma Fest- college cultural fest, Wisssinere- college Tech Fest, E-Summit- college entrepreneurship fest, Ashwadhmadha- college sports fest and Food Fest are the fests that students are excited for. The college is also equipped with cricket ground, football ground, hockey ground, badminton, basketball, volleyball courts, keeps us physically active and sports facility in the college is a boon to sports lover. The college library is modern and all academics and non-academics books are available.

The rooms are single occupancy means no one will share rooms with you. The rooms are equipped with one bed, study table and a cupboard. The rooms are cleaned 4 times a week. the hostel also has common room with LCD TV, table tennis and international journals are also available. The mess food of the college is good and healthy. The menu is vast and special food is served during the festive season. The hostel also provides 24 hours high-speed facility. The hostel is equipped with all kinds of modern facilities according to the need of the students.

The faculty ratio is 1:10 due to which their is lots of faculty and students interaction. The faculty of the college are of PhD level from the top-notch institute of India and abroad. The teacher are so friendly while teaching that we are hooked up into lectures and every concept is easily understood.
