Remarks

I was looking for a college that could fit into my budget, the student and faculty ratio should be low and my number one preference was IIT. An IIT college that could fit my budget so after searching on Internet I came to IIT Ropar. Institute which was the new member of the IIT family with good infrastructure, modern lab facility, provides ample opportunity to students in research work and with good placement record. To be part of IIT Ropar one must clear the GATE exam and must secure 60% in its bachelor program and 55% for SC/STPD students. One can fill out the admission application form by visiting the official website of the college and by paying the application fee of RS. 500 for Gen/OBC/EWS and Rs 250 for SC/ST/PWD students.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

After becoming part of the college I realised that the curriculum of the program not only focused on studies but the overall personality development of students. The curriculum is the blend of theoretical and research work to help students to understand all the basic concepts and to develop the decision-making and analytical abilities of students.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

The internship helps us to understand the working of the corporate world and to gain more knowledge. The candidate is eligible for the internship after completing the first year. The placement cell will provide you with a list of the companies available for the internship programs. The stipend varies from company to company but mainly ranges from Rs. 25000/- to Rs. 1,00,000/-. In our batch, few students were offered pre-placement offers during the internship program.

Placement Experience

4.5

The college provides a good return on investment. According to the program fee, the placement packages are worth it. The placement committee is very hardworking and able to attract market leaders for the placement drive on the campus. The highest package for our batch was around 20 LPA and the average package was around 12 LPA. Companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Goldman Sachs, Zomato, Arista Networks, Code Nation, Linux World Informatics, NASDAQ, Linkbal Japan, National Chiao Tung University Taiwan, Tesco, Yokogawa Electric Corporation Japan, etc visited the campus during the placement drive.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college provides scholarships to merit students under the Merit Cum Mean scholarship program. Scholarship for Sc/St/PD students is also available. An education loan facility is also available. To know about the eligibility criteria for the college scholarship program you can visit the college's official website. I was not able to attain any kind of scholarship so I have to pay the complete fee.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus life of the college is very good. The college organizes the fests like Technical fest is ADVITIYA, Cultural fest is ZEITGEIST and Sports fest is AAROHAN. The library is also very big that contain all type of academic and non-academic books from around the world. The college seniors and the administrative staff is very cooperative and friendly. The classrooms are very modern. The research labs of the college are equipped with all kinds of modern tools and research equipment. The campus is well maintained and the student crowd is also not too much.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The rooms are available on a double sharing basis. The rooms and the washrooms are cleaned regularly. The hostel is well maintained. All the day-to-day activities are managed by the hostel management committee and the committee comprises the hostel students representative. The hostel complex is equipped with four shops where students can buy all the necessary things according to their needs. The food of the mess is good and hygienic. The hostel also has a laundry facility. The hostel is equipped with all kinds of basic facilities according to students' comfort.

Faculty

5

The faculty of the college are of Ph.D. level with research experience and industrial exposure. The faculty of the college not only helps us in our academic growth but also works as a mentor for us for our overall development. I am also in touch with a few of the faculty members of the college and they still guide me whenever I ask for any kind of suggestion. The faculty of the college are extremely knowledgable in their respective subjects.

Course Curriculum Overview:

You will get many opportunities to furnish yourself as the faculty members are too supportive. You will get to know many conference on daily basis that can upheld your boost and make you morally supportive. Doing masters there would lack of strictness as they thought your are grown up, they considered you only for exams and other circulum activities. University should seriously take in action the role their teachers are playing as they sometimes bunk many classes. Exams are not that tough as you would require basic knowledge of your subject.
