You have to qualify to jee mains and jee advance and also you get admission from gate and cat exam and the eligibility is you have to clear 12th with min 75% and if you belong with st and sc, obc like caste then you get reservation benefit.

I chose this course because I'm interested in computer-like programs and all. So I chose this and the coding culture in iitk is very good. and the teacher of this college is very experienced. Yes, the semester exam was pretty good you have to prepare that and maintain a good cgpa that will help you in an internship.

Internships Opportunities

Please maintain a good relationship with your younger friends because they will help you in placement so it will be good for you and if you belong with CSE branch then you also clear some small tests like a general problem.

Placement Experience

From 4-semester students become eligible for campus placement and big companies like google, amazon, Flipkart, Samsung also come for giving jobs the average package is 20-30lpa and the highest package is 1.2 crore if you maintain good CGPA then it will be good for your placement.

Fees and Financial Aid

I personally feel the cost of college fees is good because when you once get a degree of iitk then you have many jobs with high package and also you applied for scholarship in this college. and also you get a loan from some bank if your financial condition was not good.

Campus Life

ANTARAGNI was the annual fest in iitk and I think this is the best fest I have seen. the atmosphere was good all preparation was done by students and also you perform like singing, dancing, and other activity. You know about akash gupta one of the best stand comedians also come to our fest.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel is good you have a room with a good conditIon also you have provided lan with unlimited internet with 1-2gbps so you have to enjoy full internet. And the fee of hoster is included in total college fee.

The placements here are quite good. Companies that hire for Electrical core: Nvidia, Texas Instruments, Qualcomm, Bajaj etc. Software/Quant compaines open to Electrical: Squarepoint Capital, NK Securities, Google, Microsoft etc. The % of students getting placed are 85%. Average package is 29.33 lpa. I have got an internship in Nvidia Software.

HBTU review from a Ist year student.

Placement Experience:

The campus placement is very good in this college. In my own CSE branch there is good placement package you can get. But in this year due to recession the placements is less in IT section but still placement is going on and top package has crossed 35LPA. During previous years top package was around 44LPA and average was 10-12 LPA . Also in other branches like Chemical engineering and mechanical engineering, the placement is at its best of 100% always.

IITK From Sparsh's Perspective

I choose this college becouse of its flexible acdemic structure and its great Alum connections. Also this is the best college i am getting according to my rank and my interest in mathematics. I have Applied for IIT delhi in electronics. IIT Delhi is also a great college but when it comes to academic focus IIT delhi lacks there. Also there faculty administratation is so strict. if a student wants to start something or he/she has a new iniative for the college , he/she will face hard time. So I couldn't make it to IIT Roper CSE branch because my jee adance rank is not that great for the Roper' Computer science. So the Admission process here at IITK is not difficult. You just the originaly document which you have submitted in your josa counselling portal and you need to verify it once here usually a couple opf hours work. The cut-off for IITK varies-from branch to branch. For example the CSE of IITk open from Jee advanced general rank of 115 to 250....Read More

I chose IIT Kanpur over othe rcooleges because of its academic reputation, research opportunities and strong alumini network. I was also able to get seats in other IITs but I preferred IIT Kanpur due to its legacy . I didn't face rejections, but did not opt for some colleges even after qualifying due to lower research output, weaker placement stats.
