Remarks
We had to submit our class 12th Board results online. Later, after being selected, physical verification of these documents was done at the college campus. The admission process was pretty smooth. The course eligibility required at least 50 percent scores in all the subjects. Application form, fees, and every detail are present on the official website of the college itself. In the improvement section, I would like to say that the website needs some improvement as it often crashes.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course as I have an interest in the banking and finance sector and the course perfectly aligns with my interest. There are just enough faculty members for a small number of students (vocational courses have less class strength as compared to other courses). Faculties are well educated and know what they are teaching. Overall it's a good experience regarding the teaching section. Term exams were taken after every 6 months (end seems). Though the college is very lethargic when it comes to giving information regarding exams. Students are suddenly provided with an exam schedule just a week before the exam ( ideally it used to be provided a month before). The 2nd-semester course was completed in just 3 months ( instead of 6) and in the later 3 months there were no classes, nor was any information being provided to students as to what was happening. Suddenly after quiet and blank 3 months examinations were announced. Therefore, the college needs to improve its administration.
Internships Opportunities
There are several internship opportunities provided from time to time. Some of the internships with stipends are offered from companies such as DE Shaw internship, VCap Money, etc. Most of these internships involve sales and marketing.
Placement Experience
After the 5th-semester students get eligible for placement. There have been numerous offers made. Companies like Wipro, Tata Consultancy, VCap money ( business partner of Motilal Oswal financial Ltd) to name a few. The highest package offered is around 6-7 laks per annum. The percentage of students getting placed is very less though. Around 5 to 10%. After getting the degree I will opt for an MBA.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees are high for vocational courses as compared to other honors. Fees should be kept low keeping in mind the current pandemic situation. I am not sure if there's any financial assistance. I am yet to apply for campus jobs as I am not in 3rd year yet.
Campus Life
'Xavier's Utsav' takes place every year in February. Although, this year due to the pandemics it might get canceled ( like last year). Xavier's is well known for its fests and programs. All the books related to the course are available in the library. The classroom is pretty spacious with all the necessary items. There are numerous sports and extracurricular activities which take place in this college and they are well organized. There are two clubs run by students: NCC Club Rotaract Club These are active clubs.
