Journalism is one of the most important courses in modern world. For the admission students need to submit minimum 50% marks and it's equivalent score is necessary for the entrance. It is affiliated to the Calcutta university and it is one of the oldest Institutes of the country and one of the first colleges run by the Indian authorities.

Course Curriculum Overview

Main course offers in the undergraduate level with bachelor of journalism and mass communication. Journalism is about gathering information and there are four kinds of journalism which are B.A Journalism, B.A Convergent Journalism, Communication study etc. Faculty not only influence the students' career but also make them strong mentally.

Students get placement for multinational companies due to their performance. Around 30% students get placed every year. The lowest salary package is Rs 1 LPA and the highest is Rs 6 LPA. Around 50% of the students got their internship offer with prettier scholarships.

Scholarship amount is judged according to the percentage of 12th board exam. Different types of scholarships are available here. Some of them are Vidyasagar Scholarship, different kinds of GOI scholarships. Prescribed concessions and scholarships are available to students belonged to physically challenged and reserved category.

Campus gives healthy vives. There is medical training center for first aid treatment. Besides, campus has huge library, auditorium, classroom, cafeteria etc. Students can spend their time freely when they hang out in a place within the compound.

A Peaceful, Culturally Rich Journey at Visva-Bharati University

Placement Experience:

Placements at VBU especially for courses like BA IN JAPANESE are limited. Most students do not receive offers through campus recruitment. However, the course opens up oppurtunities in fields like translation, interpretation and working with Japanese Companies especially for those who clear JLPT N2 or N1. After completing my bachelor's I plan to pursue an MBA as combining language skills with management education offers a strong edge in the global job market.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Generally all the subjects excluding few rare subjects are available here. I choose this course because of my future planning. I can go for research with help of this. And I loved the course's study material and syllabus. The faculty is very well. Many teachers are here. Minimum 5 teachers in one department. And all teachers are qualified. The teachers are very good knowledgeable. They are very punctual and teaches us very carefully. In every semester there is held two college's internal examination. And end of the semester there is held a final exam when we have to go to different exam center. And practical exams are held very nicely.
