Malda College - B.Com

Malda College is situated in my own city and that's the only reason I chose it but while studying I got to know about the quality it holds. The college is accredited by NAAC and it has been given Grade B by the agency. Malda College is affiliated with the Gour Banga University and it is a Public institute. Admission to all UG courses in the college are based on the 10+2 scores Merit of applicants.

Reason was quite simple for choosing B.Com, as it was always my first priority to go after my schooling and I eventually did that. The course is of semester type and its quality is purely due to the faculty. They really make the best of available resources and even with limited sources they give us a great Educational quality. I am even a part of the Students Council in the college and it is a great experience to have along with academics.

My views for the internship round are quite the same as placements because I still haven't experienced any such activity at the college. I've been working in a Social media platform as an intern of Designing as I've learnt that during my 10+2 itself and it is a good experience.

I don't know about the quality or worth of placements offered in the college because I haven't been a part of this round. The reason is that a student becomes eligible for the round in the final year and I am currently studying in the 2nd year of my B.Com course. I've heard a lot that the Placements are good but still I think I shouldn't comment much as I haven't experienced it Individually. Being a general degree college, I don't have that high hopes on the placements and I would go for higher studies after my graduation.

Being a public college, the fee at Malda College is possibly the lowest in the City for B.Com students pursuing this course here are charged only INR 8,040. Along with this nominal fee, students are even appreciated for their academic brilliance through scholarships.Students can also get Half free,Full free & Charity fund aids.

The college is a Government College and that's why most people would think that the campus life here would be very bad but no that's not the case with Malda College. The campus here is filled with very organised buildings, Good green surroundings and even has a large library hall. Students get to celebrate all major festivals in the college and good sports activities are organised after regular intervals by the institute. The newcomers get to have a freshers party but our batch was not able to experience that due to Covid situation. Still, I think the campus life in this college deserves a 8 star.

Our college has all facilities for hostel students whether related to Residence, Food or entertainment properly organised services are there. The Hostels are different for both genders and the charges are nominal. Students who aren't satisfied with the hostel quality or facilities can even opt for PGs outside the college as many students do the same.The fee for hostel facility at Malda College is nearly INR 10K.

For admission to the B.Com course in our college no sort of entrance exam, GD or Interview was there and the selection was purely based on the Merit. The condition to become eligible for selection was that students must have completed their 10+2 with the minimum mark set by the college.
