Remarks

If I have to describe my college in some limited words, may be it would be quite impossible. But overall our college is quite very good.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Yes, obviously the whole course structure and curriculum is strictly relevant to research and that type of intellectual things. But there is still some faults and resistance to learn like this in our college course just like many more university in india and all over the world. Just for example nonuniform and a quiet illogical distribution of syllabus during this three years course and something else.

Placement Experience

0.5

Here is the drawback of our college. Frankly speaking, no placement or very few placements were available that time in our college and the situation has not changed much till now.

College Events

3

In many other colleges in India, there were also held and celebrated a number of good programs and events in our college that time as well as now. Like Ranbindra jayanti, Nazrul jayanti, Independence day, Republic day, Teachers day, Spring festival, Annul sports and cultural programs and many more things.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Although our college is a government sponsored college, but there was not very expensive fees for all our college courses. Rather that time the fees were really feasible that was about thousand rupees on an average for six time during the 3 years degree course which is total nearly about six thousand rupees.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, like many students of our college, I also got a scholarship, one of the most commonly applied scholarship, named Oasis scholarship of our state government of west bengal which was about four thousand rupees per year during the degree course.

Campus Life

3

Our college atmosphere and campus life was pretty good. There were always some strong spiritual and intellectual, positive atmosphere in our college campus. May be the ratio of male and female students was quite same and there was a strong unity in the huge diversity.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, our alumni group is quite active still now. Infact last year a reunion was also held by our department and obviously all are extremely helpful to us.

Admission

I got the admission at B. Sc. Physics Honours through te online merit list, made on the basis of my 12th standard's result. As I was dreamt to study with physics or chemistry and to research at that field from the 8th standard and had been sticking to it, I worked quite hard and usually got the admission at this college of my hometown. That time I was really really nervous and afraid of leaving home for studies, there was only and only one option for me in my mind, Malda college, one of the best college for physics in North Bengal, at my hometown. Although I also got the chance to admission at Viswa Bharati for the same course through merit list, I was magisticially choosed to Malda College by my destiny and will also.

Faculty

2.5

It was quite very good. Infact we got one of the best teachers and staffs in our department perticularly. There were 5 Assistant professor and 5 partime teacher and 3 lab assistant in our department. Also there was 2 extra staff in our department. Although that time there was not any permanent female teacher in our department of Physics.

However big scale IT companies come here and students of Computer science Hons have had placements worth 6-10 lakhs easily. My plans are to appear for the job interviews but not taking any as I want to study more.

My collage provides internships, and the average package is also good. From the sixth semester one can become eligible for internships. My plan is to study further, Msc and PhD.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum was well-structured, and each semester, there were projects and presentations that also helped to test our knowledge. I got influenced as the curriculum provides us with financial economics, political economics, and Applied mathematics. The level of the exams was decent, related to the course. They could improve in teaching more practical knowledge and projects related to that, instead of only learning in a theoretical way.

Placement Experience:

Placements and job oppurtinities are less since this is an undergraduate college offwering honours degree. Though there is a placement and career councelling cell that looks over this matter. Placements are offered only in a few subjects, such as industrial chemisrty and computer science. The rate of placements are very high and come with high packages. Though I am not interested in placements, but I have started taking preparations for compititive exams. Such preparations are very supported here, rather than jobs and placements.
