Remarks

Best College in under University of Gour Banga. This is the best college in Malda Right now. I have a very positive feedback for this college. The only negative thing is sports is underrated in this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

It's very good. We are in 3 years mathematics hons course. In every year we have to give to examination in two semesters. Every semester have 200 numbers. For hons subject 50×2 = 100 and general course 50 and environment science 50. That is total of 200 marks.

Placement Experience

4

Yes the college provide internship. But the placement are average. I can say not so good. I am a student right now and I can't say about the exact idea of placement of this college. The seniors can help you right most.

College Events

3.5

There are events organized in the college. Like. - Rakhi Bandhan Republic Day Independence Day Ranbirdra Jayanti Science Seminars Christmas Durgapuja Saraswati Puja Environmental Science Seminars Anti-ragging Seminars etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

No, This is a government college. so the fees are not expensive. Due to the online process of admission we have to pay on averagely 4480 rs through online. And this is enough for one year. And I think this is not so expensive.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, the college student union provides a good scholarship for the economically backward but meritorious students. They can read any course of these college absolutely free. But the only condition is - the student must have 75% of attendance in classes.

Campus Life

3.5

Yes we do many extracurricular activities. The labs are above average. But not so good. But the sports are not so good. Sports is underrated in this college. I don't know why. But the college field is very advanced.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

No, I am not opted for hostel. But the college provide the facilities of hostels who are from outside the district zone. The hostel infrastructure is average. But the fees are very low. Anyone can afford these facilities.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, they are helpful. They come through the most bad time in this college. They help everyone in this college. Just you have to say the problem you face in this college. The seniors are also good but you have to be careful of everyone.

Admission

1st of all online admission process started in the college website. Then we have to fill up those forms online and also be submitted in online. Then we have to do the payment process through online. Then thereafter some days provisional merit list generated in college website. Then we asked for willingness to admit in college. Thereafter some days later a final merit list generated through online. There are about 10 merit list generated in every 2 or 3 working days. Then after we get our name in the merit list, we have to admit in the college in online. The admission fees also be paid through online banking. Then some days later our regular classes started.

Faculty

4

Faculty is better than another college of Gourbanga university. Every hons subject has roughly or average 4 or 5 teachers. But the pass course classes are not regular for the hons student. College must be careful about that.

College does provide internship opportunities both through the placement cell as well as department faculty. Semester 5 and Semester 7 students are eligible for placements. Average package is about 5.5 lakh per annum for microbiology course. Although placement percentage is on the lower side majority of students go for higher studies. Many prepare for exams like GATE, IIT JAM, etc.

college placements are good in this college with a number of good financial and consultancy firms coming in with new gen companies as well in the service and sales industry. moreoever getting a good placement in a top financial or consultancy placement requires a POR in a good society as a criteria, its not really required but adds to your chances of getting it. moreover you require to participate in a number of case study competitions for the same as well. my plans after graduation is probably working for a year or two after which i plan on doing my MBA. around 50-60% who apply get a placement.

The course also includes practical classes in the sound labs, editing labs and we will learn to use a camera, as one of the things we will have to do in this course is make films of our own.

In today's competitive job market it becomes important for the college to not just help students get degrees but also provide them with placements and internships so that they can have the experience needed to stand at a competitive footing with the rest of the candidates in the world. To look into this, St. Xavier's College has a Placement Cell run by Placements officer Mr. Niladri Sinha under whose guidance, various companies visit the college regularly looking for capable young minds to take under their wing and help provide them with the necessary exposure and experience so that they can combat any obstacles that they face.

The college offers good placements for economis. Students in their final year are eligible for campus placements and there is a cell dedicated to placements. Many students do not opt for placements and go for higher studies but many students who opt for it, get placed with decent packages. Many well-known companies visit the campus as well. I wish to explore my options after completing the degree as of now.

We have a placement cell helping students get placed. They keep posting opportunities like internships and fellowships throughout the year to groom students and give them exposure and experience. Placements can go to very high packages like those in Data Science, Big 4 consulting or core finance or banking jobs. CAs, CFAs and FRMs do well in the placements. The highest packages could surpass 12-13 LPA and median packages are close to 6-7 LPA. DE Shaw, Zomato, Myntra, Meesho, TCS and McKinsey are some top companies coming here.
