Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies, Pune (My Perspective)

This College overs a range of 6 specialisations with option of Single, Dual and General specialisation from 2nd Year. Admission process starts with SET exam after which a passing Mark's are decided by college out of 150 Marks. If you passed the exam, you have to pass personal interview with teachers of SCMS. Bad aspects of the college is high fees while overall infrastructure, exposure and learning opportunities make it worth.

So, SCMS offers a wide range of college webinars and special seminars for this course. Teachers are all well qualified with an experience of atleast 6-7 years and proper exposure to teaching skills. Student teacher is around 57:1 and individual attention is given to students. Teaching style is good with the help of PPTs and through webinars by top notch experienced employees of companies. There are MCQ, test which is best of 2 and project which is based on real life cases and field visits. After this there is a term exam is timely and it has difficulty factor of around 40%.

I may not be the best person to answer this as during my summer internship covid-19 even joined, so no companies came for summer internship program. What I have heard from previous batches is that companies that come for recruitment usually come for summer internships too like My Gate, Great Place To Work, etc. Stipend is something I am not very sure about. Task involves HR roles, marketing, sales, research etc. You can choose the role according to your specialisation.

Placements start while you are in Semester 5. There are a lot of companies that come to college, but remember one thing that you can get offer letter selection from a maximum of one company. So choose wisely. Companies that visited this year were Zomato, ICICI bank, tresvista, KPMG, Credit Suisse, DeltaX, Social beats, Great to place work, Wipro, MGH, MyGate, etc. Average package was 5.15 lacs while the highest package was 8.2 lacs 96.36% students who sat for placements got placements while others were planning to do an MBA.

Fee is around 152000 per semester and the course is for 6 semesters. There is a hike that might happen every year but there was no hike in fees for me for past 2 years. I am not sure about scholarship options in SCMS but you can visit their official site for the same.

Annual Fest: Sympulse that happens usually during January for 3 days. It is a fest where you will see a lot of celebrities and talented people coming. There are about 5000+ books available in library, and there is a digital library where you get subscriptions of almost all journals free of cost. You can submit book request in college library and get that book within 2 weeks. Amenities: Just like normal classrooms, the SCMS classroom contains a fan, digital board, windows, etc. There are a lot of clubs and sports activities that happen in college. Sports: Kabaddi, cricket, basketball, squash, football, table tennis, etc. Clubs: literary, marketing, finance club for the fest, research and development Cell, academic cell, etc.

Quality of mess food is really good as it is completely outsourced, so you get to eat different food every day. Symbiosis has a common hostel for all colleges in and around Viman Nagar, so you will get to know mass communication as well as law students. Hostel rooms have desks, some even have ACs, apart from usual hostel room items. You have to separately apply for the hostel using the link sent to you in the offer letter. Then it is offered at first come first basis.

Firstly there is a written SET exam which has parts of mathematics, Analytics, reasoning, and English. If you pass this according to the final mark criteria of SCMS, then you have to give a Personal Interview where you are asked about your personal knowledge, future thoughts, and some general knowledge questions. Everything is carried in a very official and timely way where you are given ample time in advance in terms of dates.
