Remarks

The admission of the course is through the Karnataka common entrance test popularly known as (kcet) all the students who passed their 2nd puc after the examination series of the admission procedure will take place. -First is the verification of documents. -They will release the candidates who are all eligible for the filling of choice in order to participate in the counseling process to get into the college. - Later according to certain criteria students will be selected through counseling which is held in 2 rounds followed by 1 extended round. -The students who have been allotted the seats are supposed to get admitted to the college. - The admission fees are paid through online mode this year due to covid outbreak. - The admission procedures were simple but they were clear. -For my concern, I won't feel any changes to be made in the admission procedure. - Overall from the process of examination to the admission if we are clear with all the certificates which we claim the procedure was smooth.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Because of my innate interest in animals from childhood, I preferred the veterinary course. If we talk about the college in Karnataka we have 5 veterinary Colleges under the university of Bidar. The colleges are located in Bidar , Bangalore, Hassan, shimoga, Gadag. I have chosen Shimoga in the 5 colleges due to the exposure it allows having lion safari elephant sanchuri located nearby we can also encounter some wildlife cases too which is very rare in other colleges. Faculty are in good number in each department we can see ahead of the department and 2 or 3 assistant professors and 3 to 4attendenders so faculties are available regularly. The student faculties ratio is about 10:1 which is a considerable ratio. -Faculties are well qualified and trained with bachelor's degree, master's degree, and many have done Ph.D. too. In concern with exams, we follow the annual board system having a whole year paper at the end. But still, University conducts 3 internal examinations to keep the students in check.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

In internship programme of the university is quite vast. -- Including the initial 3 months of entrepreneurship here the students on their own run the various farms and sell farm products and to show the income generated to the college. Later the students go to various colleges all over India mainly focused on Karnataka here students go for around 10 to 15 days of internship in other states whereas 20 to e0 days of internship in Karnataka. Here students get exposure to various batchmates lecturers various types of dispensaries and facilities mainly varieties of clinical cases so that the students get more exposure to cases. -- The stipend for the year is about 20000 to 25000 monthly during the 5th professional year which may also vary from year to year based on financial conditions of Universities' duties served by the students etc. Not only to the university and Colleges. We also serve in zoos and dairy and farms during the internship programme.

Placement Experience

4.5

Placements of the students studied from here can be seen in good number. As it is a professional course after the completion of the bachelor course many opt for masters. Civil service examination and other interests and some also go for placement the students after having bachelor degree can practice in private clinics and also can wait for government postings to work for. -- In the dairy sector also there is huge scope for veterinarians. -- And many will get into the wildlife sector where we can practice as the wildlife veterinarian or as the resource persons. -- We can run our own poultry farm chicken farm etc. Which are of great economical profits. The traditional way is the clinical practice which is through appointments which are usually done once in 2 or 3 years based on the empty places in the clinics. It is a good package job of around 50 to 60 thousand per month which is 7 to 8 lakh per annum. - We can see a good number of 83-87 percent of students get placement.

Fees and Financial Aid

This is a government college hence we have not seen much of a hike in the fees structure. We pay an annual fee of 57 thousand in the 1st professional year followed by 47 thousand in the 2nd 3rd and 4th year. In the 5th year students perform internship programmes and about 20 thousand rupees stipend is given to the students. - There are some scholarship programmes like vidhyasiri and all which will provide the student's scholarship by following criteria. The college is very much supportive in the case of scholarship programmes. A group of faculty can be seen who are exclusively there to guide through the procedures to avail the scholarship. Most of the time students will get half of the paid amount as their scholarship. The college also provides merit scholarships and freeship. Here the ones who are not getting any of the scholarship can get scholarship if they are at the toppers of the concerned classes. The merit scholarship is given to the high percentage holder of the previous year exams.

Campus Life

4

-Annually freshers day party. Conducted to welcome the first-year students of the year. -hostel day college are also held during the year where students participate in various programmes and enjoy the day - several festivals are celebrated on the college campus which includes holi , diwali , ganesha chaturthi where the holi is the most anticipated festival because students find so much fun playing with colors, and also Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated by establishing Ganesha idol and later discarding it during visarjana. Here students dance and enjoy the day. Library of the college. The Library of the college is huge with 2 floors. Which has a digital scanning entry for which we have a code in our identity cards. Our college Library is huge with the book capacity of about 10000 books which include various subjects various test books for every subject of the course and also functions journal are also there - annual sports meet is been held yearly. Which is mostly held in Bidar.

Hostel Facilities

4

I personally prefer college hostel over other pg and rented rooms as they are on the safer side and also we get to spend more tine with our class mates and during assignment projects and group studies. - nearby to the college we can find lots of pg and rented houses with good amenities which are located nearby to the college few of my batchmates stay in the rented rooms. -- Coming to the college hostel it is run by students only. Monthly hostel fees are allotted to individual students to pay. The food in the hostel is made from the interest of students itself. The hostel mess provides us better nutritionally balanced food but the students are from various corners of the state hence it takes time to get adjusted to the food culture. -- the registration for the hostel is simple it is done during the time of the college admission itself. No fees are taken during college admission only on the basis of the days which we stay in the hostel fees will be allotted. Overall the hostel is good.

People think that this course is good if one don't get the MBBS seat but in my view it's wrong . Once you enter this field you'll discover vast opportunities here . For the real world application you'll start to learn from the very first day each and everyday of your degree is important because you learn the things which you'll use in the field Internals are taken every 2 to 3 months but their difficulty level is harder than the externals since it prepares you for the internals

All faculty of almost all departments are Ph.D. holders they teach through presentations with pictures and practical's, and they give a clear-cut explanation. Exams: 3 internals per year of which best of the 2 considered and finally externals include both theory and practicals in which each department has 2 papers and it was difficult to pass some exams
