Remarks
You would need a 65% minimum to get admission to Amity University, otherwise, you'll have to pay additional money if you have less than 65%. Form filling and other detail are available on their official website, once you pay the fees for filing the form you'll get redirected to the amity microsite where you can send your documents, pay your tuition fees and also contact amity staff for any queries. You'll get updates on the microsite itself. I would've suggested that the staff would be easier to connect with so that the student wouldn't have to wait for updates on the microsite as it takes long sometimes for an update.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because I wanted to study more about microorganisms. In my batch around 70-75% of students are girls, and one should know proper time management if opting for this course. There are enough faculty to divide the subjects and teach separately. The teachers are well qualified and most of them are PhD scholars or either pursuing. I would rate the difficulty level of semester exams 8/10, although it would vary from student to student and their learning capacity, term exams were a little difficult to pass since in this course there is a lot to memorize, however, internal exams are easy and one can get a high score in internals.
Internships Opportunities
I was first working with my faculty in their research work which was under patent list. She's a PhD scholar herself so it was a really good experience for me as I learn much from them. Pharmacy companies like sun pharma etc recruit students for internships in industrial microbiology line based work, the stipend provided is decent for a student.
Placement Experience
Placements are good for some courses in amity since many companies come to recruit or promote about themselves. From the 5th semester onwards students can either affiliate in internship programs provided by amity or help in research work with the faculty. You can easily get 2-3 lakh package as a fresher, they say their placement is good but still, I would suggest doing your masters from a different University. For freshers job, you can go for quality control department in any good pharmacy company if you are good enough (still not saying that the college would place you somewhere good) if you want to go into research line then I would prefer completing masters then PhD in microbiology, you can get good placements as a lab technician or assistant virologist.
Fees and Financial Aid
Amity University is a private college so of course, the fees would be higher than other colleges. You can easily get 1-2 lakh packages per annum as a fresher, they say their placement is good (which is I say okay-ish) but still I would suggest doing your masters from a different University (if u really want a better placement). For freshers job u can go for quality control department in pharmacy companies, if you want to go into the research line then I would prefer completing masters then PhD in microbiology, you can get good placements as a lab technician or assistant virologist or even microbiologist. The faculty in amity do provide assistance to the students by affiliating them in their research work through which the students gain some knowledge about how research work is done.
Campus Life
Fests and functions are very common in amity like they held 1 or 2 every month in which students can participate too. There is also an annual fest every year in which students show their various skills. Amity University has its own big Central library which contains enough study material for all the students, it is also a place where u can study in peace, away from the crowd on the campus. The classroom is well equipped with Ac, a ventilation system and properly furnished desks. Infrastructure is good, i have to say, they are equipped with modern techs, libraries and every block are equipped with Wi-Fi s and there are a total of 5 cafeterias, and other places like arcadia and game rooms etc. Where you can go with your friends to chill and relax in your free time. Amity University has its own sports block where many kinds of sports such as shooting, football, swimming etc are available and also various clubs for students to join and show their talents.
