Remarks

I got my admission from the spot round 3. Personally, for me the process was lengthy and online admission didn't really help and therefore I had to visit the University for guidance. Lots of documents were required on the day of admission and it took about 2-3 hours to get registered.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

I chose Mechanical and Automation Engineering just because there was no other branch left. I'm more interested in the chemistry branch or IT so I would have preferred it over MAE. The faculty was pretty nice and educated about the courses until 2 years or 8th sem. After that, it was pretty much everyone to themselves. Not much guidance after that and everyone had to rely on notes and books rather than teachers. The faculty-student ratio was around 1:45 so teachers were quite busy all the time resolving student subject problems after the class. The teaching method was outdated and the entirety of the staff was graduated. The term exams were untimely. We get around 4-5 months for the first term of the year and half of that for the latter semester of the same year. For me, the exams were of moderate difficulty and I was able to pass the course.

Placement Experience

1

As mentioned earlier the campus placements are dry and most of the students end up graduating without a job. Most of the companies that come in to hire want students from the CS or IT branch and therefore are students from mechanical or civil are left to find jobs on our own off-campus. The average package of those placed are around 3-3.5lpa and less than 30% of the students get a job from campus. I have applied at various companies of the IT sector even though I'm a student of Mechanical and Automation Engineering and currently waiting for results.

Fees and Financial Aid

To be clear there were ZERO scholarship opportunities before the pandemic. Not even for the underprivileged or academically bright students. Every year almost had the same fee of around 1 lakh per annum. There are very few jobs for students of my branch as there are not many mechanical-based companies visiting. Most of the jobs are taken by CS or IT students which enjoy the most privileges. Internship used to be a big thing before the pandemic hit, after that, it was just neglected and every student was left on their own without any guidance. My friends who barely found an internship didn't receive any NOC from the college nor any support.

Campus Life

3

The campus sits on a property of 9 acres, which includes 3 blocks, and a sports area which is rather ignored by the maintenance staff. The college includes 2 parks and one canteen which in my tenure at the college was replaced twice in 2 years and prices hiked every year. I attended one annual fest at the main university and it was pretty lively. The one con about it was that I couldn't attend the fest with my cousins as the fests at IPU are only for its own students. It's not a welcome environment for students from other universities. Sports and extracurricular activities are ignored by the staff and discouraged in general. Club hours vary from taking up lecture times to later after college hours.

The newer curriculum is specialised for AI and ML, and other newer requirements. However the overall quality can be improved. Some subjects are redundant, however overall the college is moving ahead with the trends

Course Curriculum Overview:

i would rate the course cirriculum of MAIT a 8/10 as cirriculum is desgined by GGSIPU and its is well balanced with theroytical and practical knowlegde for the students. every semester you have 5 practical subject and 5 theory stubject and 1 additional subject for growth as person in corporate work. the syllabus is fairly good as thats not difficult if you pay attention in class you can score good grade in the semester. each semester usually has interal exam and then external exam which held in other colleges of GGSIPU. overall, the cirriculum is good, relevant, and career oriented.
