Remarks
First, we have to fill the online application form on their website with all documents. Then Taki Govt college publishes the merit list. If a student is on the merit list he has to pay the college fee which is around 1700 rs. Here admission process is based on a merit list. No entrance exam is conducted here. Students have to give their best of 4 subjects marks. And they have to score good marks in whatever subject they are taking honours. Merit is calculated based on the percentage of the best 4 subjects. In the Mathematics department seat capacity is around 110. But there is a reservation available for OBC/SC/ST. For any kind of admission-related notice, you have to visit college's official website.
Course Curriculum Overview
I love doing maths since my childhood and I want to be a professor of Mathematics. So I have chosen Mathematics honours. Total seats for the Mathematics department is between 100-110. But for now, 65 students are studying with my batch rest seats are vacant. Total 4 professors as of now and two of them are new professors. As in our batch, active students are 65 so the student-professor ratio is 16:1. That means for every 16 students we have got 1 professor. All the faculties in our department are highly qualified. They teach Mathematics with lots of passion. As we are in the CBCS system we have to give six semesters in 3 years. And before every semester there is an internal assessment exam. Exams are not very easy to pass. With every semester subjects become tougher but if anyone study consistently it's easy to pass.
Fees and Financial Aid
Like every government college, our college's fees structure is very low and affordable for everyone. After admission which costs around 1700 rs, we have to do registration which is around 300 rs. Then for the 2nd and 3rd years of college, we have to pay around 1500 rs. So the total fees of 3 years in Taki Government college are around 5000 rs. Being a government college fees does not hike very regularly it almost stays the same for every year. Swami Vivekananda Scholarship is available for the student who secures over 60% of marks. And if students have OBC/SC/ST they get scholarships for their casts certificate too. This college does not offer any campusing in any subject. So no direct job option after completing graduation. As the fees are already low college does not need to provide any kind of financial assistance.
Campus Life
In our college, no annual fest is conducted in general. However, some seminars are organized in our hall room. And cultural programs happen in our college very rarely. Some of our classrooms are big and some of them are small. They are decent in terms of cleanliness. Especially our room is decorated with the picture of great mathematicians. Yes, we have one of the best libraries available with thousands of books available. And the culture within the library is very calming and pretty awesome for studies. Unfortunately, we did not have a big campus as it is just beside Taki road. But in front of our geography department, there is a small ground. And an annual sports ceremony is organized every year. There is a student union in our college.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel in my Taki Govt College is very good and their food quality is also good. The hostel price is very low than other colleges and they are always clean. Every week cleaners clean our hostels and no registration is needed to book our hostel after admission, any student can contact their faculty teachers for the hostel and then he can assure him for that. In a sentence, the hostel is so good in our college.
