Remarks

JD Institute of Fashion Technology has a very responsive online presence which makes the admission process very easy for prospective students. What makes this even better is that the faculty and administration are also very helpful and considerate. Being one of the most sought after colleges for fashion technology, JD Institute was my first choice. I communicated with them via the details given on their website and the rest of the admission process was very smooth. The registration process was made easier by the people in the admin office who were very organised and reached out to all of us personally. They also took into consideration one's special needs and adjustments. The Hauz Khas branch is very accessible and makes you feel completely at home. The people there were very polite towards my parents and cleared all our doubts effectively. All the details for admission are mentioned on their website as well as through calls and from their physical centres.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

To be a fashion designer has been a childhood dream of mine and JD Institute combined the rare blend of things that I was looking for: it nurtures creativity and provides abundant exposure to the fashion industry. It covers a comprehensive range of topics such as fashion theory, history, foundation art, stitching among other things that are required to get a grasp over fashion.mOur teachers are very knowledgeable, supportive and encouraging. They focus on each student in the class and make sure that the learning process is inclusive and deep. Even the online classes that were held during covid were very regular and thorough. We are always encouraged to ask questions and come up with original ideas. Assessments in the form of projects, assignments, PPTs and tests are regularly conducted. Semester exams are held at the end of every six months under the aegis of Subharti University.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Since I am only finishing my first semester, I haven't done any internships yet but look forward to the many opportunities that JD provides in this regard. Since the beginning, we have been taught the benefits of internship programs and what exactly to look for while working. So I am excited to act on the possibilities that JD offers for this!

Placement Experience

3.5

JD promises very wide ranging and vibrant opportunities in placements and internships to all its students. Recent placements include Triburg, Rina Dhaka, Super Overseas Pvt. Ltd et cetera. The average package is around 3.6 L p.a. There are also regular collaborations with brands and companies to provide much needed exposure to students such as the one by renowned fashion brand Madame on Fashion and Retail sector in India. Focus also on emerging trends in the fashion industry such as sustainability through the World Animal Day Competition by PETA.

Fees and Financial Aid

The total fees for the course I am enrolled in is 8 lakhs 44 thousand. I am currently not availing of and scholarship or any form of benefit. Compared to all other colleges, JD's fee structure suited me the most considering that it provides a holistic experience and a four year undergraduate degree program.

Campus Life

3.5

The Hauz Khas campus is quite well resourced, comfortable and accessible. All necessary amenities are provided and facilities such as the library, elevator, studios and technological support are provided to all students. The classrooms are spacious, air conditioned and very well designed.

students get elligible for campus placement in the fourth year. Although have heard some students say to focus more on skills as working in a studio will be better than placement and have also not heard such good news about the amount of students getting placement. my plans too is to focus on skills more than the grades as that would be more helpful and is whats needed more for the career i am going for, instead of the marks i got on writing theory in my answer sheets

Placement Experience:

Speaking about placements I have very little knowledge about it as I am in first year, but after engaging with some really helpful seniors there has been a good hype in the campus placements and I've also heard very reputable companies have accepted students from this college. Also to mention the most important part of this college is it has a 99% placement program which really stood out to me, while talkin to the administrative staff my interest piqued when I heard there was a student who got 12lakh per annum placement opportunity

College placements are good enough. A whole week is dedicated to that. Students get enough opportunities throughout the course and are offered jobs in 4th year. Even after that if placement hasn't happened, the college faculties have enough contacts.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because I wanted to opt for something related to marketing side or more like something that requires digital work. The faculty:student ratio is 1:40 in my batch. My faculty is very knowledgeable. I have a good experience in teaching (not all but mostly) with them. The term exams are timely scheduled and it is not easy to pass a exam but it is not also very difficult. If you work consistently throughput the semester you would score a good grade in the end.
