Really cool college with qualified faculty, huge campus, good placements.

You can get admission here through Jee main, wbjee or management quota. I scored 9300 ranks in wbjee and got admission through that with tution fee weaver scheme which is proven very beneficial to me. The admission process is smooth and easy. The cut-off for my course was around 10,000 rank in wbjee. One can find the application form on the college website with around 70,000 admission fees in the months of July or can directly go to the college campus.

The information technology department in our college is worth taking, that's why it was always my first choice. For our class of 90 students, there are 7 teachers teaching us by doing their best. All of them are well qualified with atleast a master's or doctorate degree. Their experienced and organized mentoring helps us to overcome every odd situation throughout the semesters. Every month there is a class test for each subject and in every six months there is the final semester exams. Though those exams are a bit tough but most of the students manage to qualify the tests.

Good companies come for internships like Wipro, cognizant. Students get internships offers from their fifth semesters. Job roles like web developer, software developer, bug detector are offered. From the seventh semester, college have a mandatory rule of making projects.

From seventh semester students become eligible for placements and before that they can go for internships. Companies like Infosys, Wipro, TCS, Cognizant comes at a regular basis. Last year highest package was 11 lakhs, and average was around 3 lakhs. Most of the students get placed in tech companies, but core companies are a no show. Around 70 percent students get a decent job offer, rest struggles in interviews, or aim for higher studies. My plans are the same.

The fee structure is not that heavy for a private college, but for some students like me has to depend on some scholarship. I got admission with tution fee weaver scheme. But for other students with the recent fee hike, it is difficult to manage their financial stability as one can't get any decent job on campus with a stipend.

When it comes to campus life, HIT has no match. We got to singers like Jubin Nautiwal in our annual cultural fest. When March comes, here in Haldia the season of tech fest Prayukti begins where students get the opportunity to present themselves with various events. Aryabhatta Central Library is a haven for book readers and also a place for exam preparation. The classrooms are developed and modernized. We have cricket and football tournament as well as an annual cultural meet. Students run societies like Hitian Inside, Needs, The HIT times, Samarpan, csi to make themselves prepared for the outside world.

The hostel rooms have four beds for four students and provide a chair and a table for each, and have electric fans. The floor is of marble and the room is neat and clean. The meal is awful and it is not edible at all. One can register for a hostel at the time of admission with fees of 12,000 per semester. If you are thinking of a PG, that will be a better choice from the second year.
