The campus is away from the hustle of the town the college offers great opportunities for students to grow.

I got into this institution by clearing the AIEEE B.Arch examination by scoring 234 marks. It got me an AIR of 1173 being an institute of national renown and situated in the hills, it was a very easy decision for me to decide to come here.

The course structure is provided by the ministry of human resource development (MHRD) every semester has a few choices of subjects from which the students can choose the elective that interests them the faculty of the college is pretty good and apt at what they do.

A number of global firms such as L & T come on campus to provide internships. Internships can be secured by clearing aptitude and general tests followed by interviews the stipend is varied.

The placements are excellent especially for students pursuing civil, mechanical and computer science engineering companies such as L & T, Infosys, Samsung, Bhushan Steel, etc are regulars on campus and offer packages ranging from 4 15 lakhs per annum.

Every odd semester the cultural festival 'Hillfair' is organised in the college 'Nimbus', the technical festival is held every even semester many institutes from all around Himachal participate in these festivals in a variety of events both the festivals are held for a duration of 3 days.

Being a government institute, the fee is quite nominal ample hostel accommodation is available three students share a room till the final year after which single rooms are provided though the mess facilities are good, for the people who don't like it, there are eateries all around the campus students who prefer to take a PG can easily get one near the campus for a monthly rent of around Rs. 2000.

There are a number of scholarships available on the basis of economic status, bonafide status and merit status the college specifically offers stipends to Mtech (Rs.8000 pm) and PHD (Rs.22000 pm) students there is also a merit cum means scholarship awarded to students whose family income is below Rs.50000 (100% tuition fee + Rs.300 pm) and below Rs.200000 (50% tuition fee + Rs.200 pm).

The campus has a great atmosphere with plenty of activities going on all around there are a number of interaction spaces where groups of students can be found chilling out. There are students from all over India. The boy:girl ratio is around 4:1. Workshops on various fields are conducted throughout the year there are a number of student societies and clubs including photography, music, dance and many more.

A strong alumni network is maintained and alumni meets are held regularly the senior students are quite helpful and juniors can approach them for any matter, personal or academic.
