Remarks

I applied for Bsc Statistics in PSG College of Arts and science. It is Aided course in our college. Admission for this course is based on your group in 12th(1st or 2nd). Maths(or Statistics) is mandatory for opting for this course. Good marks in Maths are enough for getting admission in this course. Counseling is based on the marks secured.

Course Curriculum Overview

I wanted to do something different from others, so I opted for this course. The field of statistics is now growing drastically. We had enough faculties in our department. The teaching was also good. We had two internal exams before each sem exam and a total of 6 semesters for 3yrs. The exams weren't very tough.

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 5000 per year

Placement Experience

Placements are good in the college. Many companies visit the campus. Companies like Infosys, wipro, E&Y, DE shaw, etc visit our campus. 60 to 80% of the students gets placed. The placement cell makes sure that students get placed.

Fees and Financial Aid

Since it is an Aided course fee of the course is very low when compared to other courses in the college. You may also get scholarships depending upon the marks secured 12th. The college will send circulars regarding the scholarships available and also the eligibility criteria. I had applied for the NSP scholarship for which i was eligible (min 90% marks in 12th). This scholarship provides Rs 10,000 per year.

Campus Life

Life on campus is very good. It is a ragging-free campus. The college has a huge library which has almost books on every subject. There are many clubs in the college. Students are free to join those clubs. Cultural events happen every year and also we will have Pongal celebration every year.
