Remarks

I have taken admission in Maharashtra National Law University, Mumbai. I have entered from all India open category. To enter a National Law University to study law students have to give an all India exam called CLAT and having qualified CLAT can they then be eligible to get admitted. CLAT doesn't have an age cap yet and it is of 150 marks to be completed in 120 minutes. After that allotment lists are released and we are allotted colleges and then on the counselling day through an online medium we were told all about the college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I am pursuing B.A. L.L.B(Hons) and I chose it because I always wanted to do law and I am very much interested in understanding society and no course would have helped me achieve that more than Law. We have 6 subjects per semester and around 125 students in one class. We have one teacher for each subject. All the faculty are educated and qualified in their respective subject. We have a midterm exam and an end term exam for each semester and one year consists of 2 semesters. We are also required to make projects every semester. The exams are of moderate difficulty and not that difficult to pass.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

The students can intern at courts or firms and they can get those internships on the basis of their likes, requirements, and qualifications. The students join our research assistants etc. Since MNLU Mumbai is a rather new college students are still finding new areas to explore.

Placement Experience

3

Students become eligible to get placed in their 9th or 10th semester. The big companies and firms like Khaitan and Co. visit the college for placements. The highest package has gone around 11 lakhs and averages around 6-8 lakhs. Almost 85% of the students get placed.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure is divided into tuition fees, hostel fees, mess fees, etc. The fees do get a hike every semester. In comparision to other colleges especially other private colleges, MNLU Mumbai is affordable for a course such as law. There are a lot of scholarships offered by states as well as universities and institutions for all the categories. The college has an internship and placement cell whose database helps students get placements. There are no on campus jobs.

Campus Life

4

We hold an annual fest called abhikrama and a yearly celebration they are celebrated around March. There is a library and we can order the books we need. The library already has all the big journals subscribed to and has an online library as well. The classrooms are air conditioned and have projectors etc. There are plenty of spaces in and around the campus to play sports. We have a snooker and foosball table as indoor games. There are moots, ADR competitions, Debates always happening on the campus.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

There is a hostel next to the college building and it is compulsory to live in the hostel. They serve 3 meals throughout the day and a snack in the evening. The quality of food is nice. One registers for the hostel along with the college admission process. The locality is posh and clean. The hostel is located in Hiranandani Gardens which is really nice.

This year 1st batch of students passed out and nearly 40% students were placed in top law firms. I didn't noticed most as I was busy with my training as from third year students are trained and are asked to upgrade their CVs with top law firms internships as all of this is reviewed by the recruiters.

NMIMS Kirit P. Mehta School of Law Mumbai is best when it comes to law placements. Corporate Law is the biggest takeaway here and therefore most students here are placed in corporate as insurance and asset management companies are the ones that gives placements opportunities to students of our college.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have chooses this curriculum as I am intrested to do law. Many of students and other peoples praises the college as "Best College of Law" in Marathwada region. To be honest. Really it is best college. Which gives us best curriculum during our academic year. The curriculum of college teaches me how to become a good lawyer. The arguing skills etc. There should be no suggestions from my side just to imrove the course curriculum as it is overall good. The timings and scheduled are fixed by college and university. Generally the exam is in two shifts 10:00 to 1.00 and 2.00 to 5.00pm.

Placement Experience:

The placements are quite good there are 6 to 7 students who have got PPOs in their 4th year itself. All the famous law firms come to our college, the advantage we have over the other colleges is our location, as our college is based in a prime area of Mumbai, so all the famous law firms' offices are quite nearby. Maybe around 80 percent of students get placed by the end of 5th year, and our placement cell is also very efficient and works very hard for the students.
