### Why I Chose HIET Shahpur Over Other Colleges When selecting **Himachal Institute of Engineering and Technology (HIET), Shahpur**, I considered various factors, including affordability, proximity, academic reputation, and the overall fit for my career aspirations. However, I was concerned about the high tuition fees and felt it was more suited for students with strong financial backing. #### **2. Why I Chose HIET**: - **Affordability**: HIET was the most budget-friendly option. The lower tuition fees and availability of scholarships made it financially viable for my family. - **Proximity to Home**: Being located in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh, HIET was closer to home, which reduced travel and living expenses while providing a familiar environment. - **State Quota and Scholarships**: The state quota system and government scholarships for Himachali students offered significant financial relief. - **Simple Admission Process**: Compared to larger universities with complex application requirements, HIET had a straightforward admission process, making it easier to secure a seat. --- ### **Rejections and What Went Wrong** - **CGC Landran**: I couldn’t meet the required cutoff in JEE Main for the course I wanted, as competition for popular streams like Computer Science was intense. - **PTU**: My financial constraints made it difficult to commit to t...Read More
