AIEEE, as at our time(2011) there were separate exams for both IIT and AIEEE. My AIEEE rank was 13284. I has no clue of counselling then, hence I took the first college that I got. Could have got in IIIT-A, but I had to surrender my seat in IIIT-G, which was a risk, that I didn't take.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course structure is good. You have all the computer science(IT) subjects that are essential for the industry, but only catch is don't expect to learn from the faculty, you have to manage everything on your own, in other terms attending the lecture or not is one and the same thing as far as learning is considered. But they have marks for attendance as well, so you might have to attend the classes if you need to score good grades.
Internships Opportunities
Since, it's a dual degree course, the span of college is 5 years. The college is open to internships only except the final year. Else you can do internships by taking NOC from the college.
Placement Experience
Placements are real BAD here. It was the first IIIT that got established, but doesn't stand anywhere in terms of placements to IIIT-A and IIIT-H. Only a few good companies, companies of the lights of Flipkart, Amazon etc visit(At my time even Flipkart didn't come). Placement officer is of no use. Mostly students themselves have to try and get as many companies as possible. Hence, placements are a real problem here.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure is feasible. In fact, it is cheaper than most of the other NIT's and IIIT's. Fee includes your Tuition Fee + hostel fee + Mess fee. I don't remember the exact distribution for all, but we paid on an average 45K per semester.
Fees and Financial Aid
There was no scholarship as far as I remember. but if you do good under your Professor, then, he/she might help you to do your thesis, and might as well can send you to other colleges(even outside India), to attend seminars.
Exam Structure
There are 10 semesters, and every semester has three examinations. They call it Minor-1(20). Minor-2(20) and Major(40). Here the numbers in the brackets are the marks for each exam. These numbers may vary depending on the subject and faculty. The remaining marks can be again divided as the marks for attendance, surprise tests etc.
Faculty
Faculty is same as every Govt. college in India. They won't have enough knowledge or if they might have(that is rare), won't be much relevant to you as you study for placements, and most of the times companies don't ask from your curriculum. Instead they look for your problem solving skills. Hence, I would give 5/10 to faculty.
