I gave JEE Mains exams and scored 183 marks which was sufficient to get me into this college . It was nearest of all colleges I had choice of getting into and also this college being an Indian Institute was the reason of me choosing this college. The fees is also affordable.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is quite good. The subjects taught here are in trend like Quantum Mechanics, Data Structures, Algorithms, Compiler Design, etc. This being a research institute the focus on research is immense. We are encouraged to do any kind of research in our B.Tech projects.
Internships Opportunities
Two years back the internships were quite good but since last year there is a drastic decrease in the number of companies coming for internship. This year no company has come to take students for internship.
Placement Experience
Placements are quite good here though not good as it used to be few years back. The average placement has come down as well as the percent of placed students. Though the placements are quite good as compared to many colleges with two students bagging 38lpa this year.
College Events
There are mainly 4 main fests in this college. AURORA is the cultural fest. This is the fest which sees maximum audience from in and out of the college. Each year some famous musicians are invited. INFOTSAV is the technical fest. This is the fest which sees least audience. URJA is the intra college sorts fest while TWARAN is the inter college sports fest.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure is feasible. This being a central institute has its perks as it receives lots of funds from the government. The category students are charged zero tuition fees. The mess and hostel fee is low. Tuition fees is also affordable. Fees is taken per semester. In this semester Rs.48,700 were charged for non category students which includes everything.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are many scholarships that many of my friends have availed on pretexts of being a category student, or low salary of their parents.
Campus Life
Campus life is very monotonous. Gender ratio is 1:4 (Girls : Boys). One good thing about this college is that we have students coming from diverse backgrounds and different states such as Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Kerala, etc. apart from the North Indian states. Apart from sports there is no extra curricular activity.
Exam Structure
Exam structure is fine. There are two minor exams and one major exam per semester. There is no gap in between the exams so they finish in few days. Thus we get quite a free time to explore different fields. There is not much burden on students which I feel is good.
Admission
I gave the JEE mains examination. After that there were filling of choices of colleges in order of preference. I was allotted this college in the spot round. I was asked to be present in college after 7 days with mentioned documents and fill some forms for registration purpose in case I wanted admission in the college. The administration were helpful and I didn't face any problems during the registration process.
Faculty
The faculty is highly qualified being the second best faculty in the country at the moment but the teaching quality is not good. Apart from some, none shows interest in teaching. Some faculties take only 50% of the classes due. Some are least bothered to atleast attempt to make the subject interesting.
