Remarks

I applied for this college through the CCMT portal after qualifying GATE examination. It's one of the most prestigious colleges in our country is ranked among the top 40 by MHRD. The placement scenario here is very good as most of the students get placed on an average package of 8 LPA and above. The branch doesn't matter much once you go to this college as the curriculum along with the strong competitive environment here will make you ready for most of the job opportunities and internship opportunities that are provided over the course of 2 years.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Honestly, I wanted to opt for VLSI but my GATE score wasn't high enough to get that among the top colleges or NITs. So I had to choose between a better college or branch and I opted for the first. But once I got into this course I was highly interested from the start itself. Subjects like Adaptive Signal Processing, Advanced Mobile Communications, and others do give a lot of in detail analysis of the practical world. The faculties here are exceptional with most of them holding PhDs from top IITs and NITs and are very helpful towards students. Every concept is dealt with very carefully by them and it was a great learning experience. Due to covid, the exams were delayed a little and for the first term, exams were held online. From the second semester, the exams were offline and are not that easy to deal with. One must study the subject thoroughly in order to secure good grades.

Internships Opportunities

4

During internships, many got placed as software developers and embedded systems design engineers, etc in companies like Infineon, Apple, Qualcomm, etc. But I didn't do any internship so no idea of the projects done by them in these companies.

Placement Experience

4.5

Students get to sit for internships from the second semester itself and then for placements they were allowed from the third semester onwards. As I said earlier big companies like Apple, Qualcomm, Analog Devices, Nvidia, Philips, Samsung, Oracle, Amazon, Texas, etc do visit our college and in all more than 150+ companies visit on campus with more than 75% of the students getting placed in Masters itself. Software developers, App developers, Machine learning engineers, and hardware engineers are some of the profiles these companies recruited for. The highest package of 60 lacs was given by apple to 4 students and on average students get placed around 8 to 8.5LPA. After completing my degree I am going to join the company I got placed in.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees here are as per the standard of NITs and IITs. For the first year, it's 1,20,000 as 15000 is taken as a security deposit, and for the next year, it's around 1,05,000. The scholarship of 12,400 is provided on a monthly basis by MHRD. Many people got internships in the 2d semester itself but I got placed on campus with a package of 9 LPA and most of the batchmates got placed around the same package. Big companies like Amazon, Oracle, Mathworks, Nvidia, Qualcomm do come with an average LPA of 20+LPA but one must be prepared thoroughly in their domain to crack them.

Campus Life

4.5

The sports and gym facilities around here are great. Each and every sport is given an equal amount of importance and playgrounds are available for all of them. As I said due to covid times fests were not held this year but I got to know from my seniors that they do happen on a large scale with a huge amount of enthusiasm and enjoyment. Although I got to see their convocation and it was a great experience. Classrooms are extremely spacious with great lights and the structure is like an auditorium with fully centralized AC in all of them. I was in a social group named OSA(Optical Society of America) and there are a lot of groups for the students to join.

Placement Experience:

Campus placement for M.Tech students usually begins in the 3rd semester, allowing students to build their technical knowledge and complete relevant projects. The TPC is active and brings in a mix of core and IT giants and research-driven organizations. QUALCOMM, TEXAS INSTRUMENTS, MICROCHIP, Marvel, Intel, SAMSUNG, and AMAZON regularly visit the campus. The highest package will be 30 LPA, mid and avg are approximately the same, about 24 LPA, approximately 80% students get placed through campus drives, while others pursue Ph.D and research projects. Personally, after completing my degree, I aim to expand my embedded system knowledge to work in the semiconductor industry, while also keeping the option of pursuing doctoral research abroad if the right opportunity arises
